brf cakes stalled while the rest were great, contaminated?

I inoculated about 20 jars with golden teacher spore syringes. About 15 of these were successful and transferred to a monotub while a few of these pictured below stalled out and have not grown since they stalled a few weeks back.
Is this some kind of contam?

Yeah if they stall for a prolonged period there is a competing micro organism in there. If they have no signs after several weeks toss em. They could also just be to wet/dry or whatever. Either way no growth for weeks toss em.

But there does not appear to be any visual issue with them so I was wondering if I can wash the cakes off and use them together in their own monotub?
Also assuming that when I open them and break them open they smell and look good. And yes if there is a risk of contam I would be sure to do this in a still air box. that is airtight and would be hit with a bleach bomb if any are contam.

Well if you'd like to experiment by all means go for it. Just dont mix those 5 jars in with the other 15. Never hurts to experiment. I've never had good outcomes messing with partially colonized BRF to the point il just toss em. After a several week hault I wouldn't put my money on them finishing.

The tall half pints can stall which is why the shorter ones are used.
I’ve heard that flipping them upside down can get them growing again but idk.

A.K.A. brings up a great point. I completely forgot about this but on my first grow, I had a stalled jar that I got going again by knocking the cake loose from the glass and flipping. Sorry I completely forgot about that. My only guess is that it was packed to tight and wasnt getting enouph co2 in that pocket. I'm just speculating on why it worked but it actually finished after that. Either way hope that helps. Sorry it only happened to me once and it's been a while since I've done BRF.

I'd keep them for another week, then scrub off uncolonized sub and fruit them as cakes.

Thanks for the advice I am going to try and shake them around a bit in the jars and then record any progress. I am waiting on supplies to arrive (c'mon Amazon!!), but then I will attempt to fruit the golden teachers to a 12 Q monotub. I am also using a liter of Cambodian Gold spawn that has some beautiful pins (currently storing in fridge until supplies).
I will update with pictures if they develop/when the monotub starts.

Don't shake them. Your dry verm layer has contams on it and if you shake them up, you'll introduce them to those uncolonized areas.
