[ID Request] Psilocybe subaeruginosa (?), Victoria, Australia
    #26708198 - 05/31/20 12:32 AM (3 years, 7 months ago)

Hello, I have consulted several sources including Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World and feel reasonably confident in my judgment that these are Psilocybe subaeruginosa. However, as this is the first time that I have managed to find any shrooms, I would like to get a second opinion. Especially as it seems that Galerina Marginta/Autumanalis can look somewhat similar to the untrained eye. Unfortunately, I neglected to take any photos in situ due to my excitement. See photos of the dried specimens below.

Cap: Obtusely conic to campanulate in young specimens, becoming hemispheric to convex in older specimens with a small umbo. Surface smooth. Hygrophanous, fading from caramel to tan/dull tan.

Gills: See photo, I'm not sure how to describe attachment.

Stem: Thick and sturdy, white. White, cortinate partial veil in younger specimens.

Habitat: mushrooms were found in long grass and at the base of pines, some growing close to decaying wood, but not directly on the wood.

Bruising: blue

Odour: hard to say, reasonably strong I would guess mealy?

Many thanks in advance!
