Aaaaand they're nothing but green trich. From this and the new PE6 doing the exact same thing I've concluded there is absolutely no way to tell difference between green trich mycelium and cube mycelium. It looks the same, smells the same, grows the same, until you try to fruit it. The plates
these two different varieties grew on look identical and those plates look identical to all my other plates that do work perfectly. And they all look identical to all my different clone plates that work perfectly too. There is absolutely no way to tell if green trich is in your plate
whether it's tomentose or rhizomorph mycelium. Just seems like you definitely have to get a few plates away from the spore plate and hope for the best zero strategy zero anything you can do.
The AA+ and lizard king were done the exact same way as this, the plates look identical, everything smelled identical, everything grew identical, But they fruited perfectly and didn't contam till after multiple flushes and dying. I only ever get contams when I try something new and never else

Yeah buddy Trich is a parasitic mold and will hide in the Mycelium.
It's a real bitch to get it out of a culture. I have read about hot pouring over a fully colonized plate. I have never done it though.

I still have plenty of spores to try again someday with them. I'm taking a break for awhile for the summer it's nice to have nothing around for awhile.

LoL plate work doesn't count
I think my problem is I just don't do enough transfers before a2g It's just everything I get is always so thin and wispy. So light and thin I can barely see it on the plate. Even from clone center stem flesh. Dishes grow sooo slow 2 weeks just to grow an inch. One dish of PE has rhizos the rest it's all the other shit.

Lower your nutrient mix in your dishes. Then when. You are like 4-6 transfers in let it grow out and pour agar over the dish at about 165-170 degrees. The mycelium should grow through the agar and the heat will kill the parasitic mold that is intertwined. At least that is how it was explained to me. I have never done it.

I'm using that just add water pda. If I reduce the ratio anymore it will be soup. It's already so soft it's almost wet. I need to start making my own agar it looks like instead of this just add water stuff. Gonna follow pasty's recipe and use some color.
That warm pour tek thing on it sounds cool I'm curious if that works

I've heard of the hot pour or sandwich method for getting myc away from smothering bacteria, something about bacteria not being able to grow up through that second layer but myc grows in the 3D.
Have you read about it specifically with trich Sock?
Sorry to hear about the tubs Rum. That always sucks bad, especially trying to get a new variety started.

Yeah I remember when it came up it was that Mycelium can survive 165 but molds can it's basically like Pasteurize plates.
