The former Minneapolis police officer seen in a video with his knee on George Floyd's neck had 18 prior complaints filed against him with the Minneapolis Police Department's Internal Affairs, according to the police department... https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/28/us/minneapolis-officer-complaints-george-floyd/index.html Not surprised.

I'm kind of doubtful that anything will happen to the other 3.
I wonder if they got their partial pensions or any sort of severance?
Police unions are so dirty. Taxpayes in my state pay cops $80-$100 an hour to do traffic and construction details because the union had them storm the state house a few years back when the law was going to be overturned. They're literally making dentist money to stand around a construction site staring at their phone.

Minnesota
Minnesota law originally defined third-degree murder solely as depraved-heart murder ("without intent to effect the death of any person, caus[ing] the death of another by perpetrating an act eminently dangerous to others and evincing a depraved mind, without regard for human life").[7][8] In 1987, an additional drug-related provision ("without intent to cause death, proximately caus[ing] the death of a human being by, directly or indirectly, unlawfully selling, giving away, bartering, delivering, exchanging, distributing, or administering a controlled substance classified in Schedule I or II") was added to the definition of third-degree murder.[7][9] Up until the early 2000s, prosecutions under that provision were rare, but they began to rise in the 2010s. Some reports linked this increase in prosecutions to the opioid epidemic in the United States.[10]
Minnesota law also defines the crime of third-degree murder of an unborn child, with the same elements of depraved mind and lack of intent to kill distinguishing it from first- or second-degree murder of an unborn child.[11][12] Both third-degree murder and third-degree murder of an unborn child are punishable by a maximum of 25 years' imprisonment.[7][12]

I watch about 4 hours of live footage from when the demo started.
Some folks being interviewed were saying 20 people have died in police custody with no charges against police in the last few years, normal people, and young families were there saying it's the 4th demonstration they've attended about deaths in police custody.
Tensions were high, but no violence until cops started firing flash bangs into the crowds. Then it looked like the stone throwing started, fensing being ripped out, the mechanic place was raided for spray paint.
Then the cops started firing Tear Gas into the crowds.
Target was initially raided for the shopping carts to make barricades, a few took advantage started looting but most seemed to be dragging shopping carts for the barricades.
It went downhill from there.
Next morning lots of people turned up with shovels and brushes started cleaning up.
Didn't see anything from last night when the police place was torched, seems it was a repeat and escalation from the first night.
They need to get those cops locked up and show there's gonna be some real justice, because if they don't the next step is bringing in the National Guard which could be lighting the fuse for the whole country to errupt IMO.

They could be detained on charges or for protection - but they still have rights under the eyes of the law, fair trial and all that, despite any wrong doing.

Where were the brave police officers stopping the looting and arson? They were all huddled up in their fortress, protecting no one but themselves and counting their overtime dollars. They literally have one job, to protect people from the shitty few, but they didn't do it because it was scary so they let the city burn
Not quite all, some were out on 'special maneuvers'. Some armed with umbrellas and hammers, others no doubt with incendiaries. After all, what would it look like if the police were out in force and arresting perps, only to find out they were their collegues, and caught on camera by the public photographers to boot!
Hats off to the brave woman that followed 'brollyman'. If he gets caught gets the mayor should give her the 'key to the city' or whateves you peeps would call it over there.
Lets just hope she don't get 'suicided' first.

These looters need some leadership!
You're going to tell me out of that entire group that showed up to Smash n Grab not one of them has worked for a corporate retail store? Why didn't they ring up every cash/gift/debit card before burning the mother down?!

One cop has been convicted of murder in Minneapolis in recent years. The cop was black and the victim was white. Funny how the police union didn’t protect him. Makes you wonder.

I knew some shit like this was going to happen today. I left downtown as soon as I started work and been in the rich neighborhood here in Cherry Creek all day.
Did that guy get ran over yesterday or today?
I wonder if the charges will prevent further chaos here.
