I found a 23 Qt Presto a couple of weeks ago at a Rural King. Haven't been able to find them anywhere else. Definitely check your local farm supply shop.

Highly recommend All American. The longevity of the unit outweighs the initial cost.

Yea if you have the money all american is the way to go. Lifetime tools that will retain their their value well. Plus you can mod them to be a sterilizer if the bobbing weight gets on your nerves.

I just picked up a 23 qt Presto at Ace Hardware (locally) they had one on the shelf...it was the last one..but they had 2 Presto 18qt canners with the gauge on the shelf...so check Ace if you have one local.
Also, I called Presto customer service to see when they would have them back in stock and they told me they actually have them in stock you just have to call and ask and order over the phone...they aren't listing them online...this was for the 23 qt and that was just over a week ago. I did order a 23qt over the phone with Presto but then cancelled because I found the one at Ace..so call Presto customer service.
If you have the money for an All American by all means.
Also check facebook marketplace...there's been some on there..and sometimes you find some crazy deals. I found an All American sterilizer in good working condition for $100 (normally like $800 new), I just didn't have the time to go pick it up...2 hours each way. There's deals to be had if you look hard enough.

The 25 qt is a good size that fits on stoves well and is perfect for agar runs if you want to do agar in future. Can fit a good amount of jars in it aswell.
Ive seen all americans on craigslist aswell for good prices.

Been using my mirro for ages with no problems. Saw it was available on this site (http://www.pressurecooker-outlet.com/Mirro-Pressure-Canner-22-Quart.htm) no clue about shipping. I never worry about the lack of pressure gauge, physics tells me the pressure. Only other issue is that 2 of the jars on top need to be narrow mouth to make it fit 10 qt jars.

Im a little timid about using one without a gauge.
Just called presto, they are out till august! Haha looks like my best options are one for 2x the price on ebay or an all American.

See if this helps. PSI is pounds per square in. Pounds are units of force and square inches of area. You want 15psi. The stem of a pressure cooker has an area of whatever, call it x square inches. The weight of the jiggler just needs a weight of 15lbs*x such that it won't lift off with under 15psi of pressure. Your pressure will never exceed what the jiggler dictates and never be much under if it's moving. Certainly a few fluid dynamics factors will affect your pressure due to certain motions of the jiggler, but they won't be that large and they would be exactly the same on a presto.
For instance, my cooker: 97g weight actual weight 3.35mm diameter stem --> Area = 8.83 mm^2 = 0.0136806616769484 sq inches 0.0136806616769484*15 lbs = .205 lb = 93g, so the calculation damn near produces my jiggler weight, which might be a touch higher to ensure 15 psi during venting, or simply my calipers not fitting that well in the stem.

I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

not sure how many prestos ive burned out over the years. never burned out an all american.
over the haul all american is the only choice.
i would also suggest, if ya know what your doing, the instapot works. just run an instapot 2x for 40 minits 24 hours apart.

I've had my mirro for 7 years and never even replaced the gasket. Only lubed with water. How are you burning out prestos?

in my world a presto lasts max 18 months before gaskets and or guages blow. yes, you can order new gaskets. for those who have ever actually gone thru this my condolences. its almost easier to just get a new presto. if you have to pause a scale grow cuz a seal blows, when ya figure time and money lost with hassles it is cheaper to buy 2 all americans outright, and blow past the roadblocks.
this would all depend on the level of use. a mono a year, whatever, presto might last decades. for those who do the room size, prestos have the lifespan of hamsters. as compared to all americans, wich i suspect will last thru the next ice age and be used by humans who dig them up in 3020.
never underestimate an instapot though, i just did a scale grow using instapots as a test. it can be made to work up to the several mono scale. maybe beyond. if i had no bux, and was less than dried pound a year grower, id get an instapot.
as a side not many years ago i sourced 2 generic cookers from india for like 30 bux each, they were fantastic till seals blew.

What’s the biggest instant pot? 10qt? I’ll take the 23qt presto at the cheaper price point.
