Fresh Mushroom Grow Kit Questions

Hello fellow cultivators,
being a noob in this field i decided to not risk it for now, and start my endeavor with a grow kit from Fresh Mushrooms Golden teacher.
This grow kit seamed simple enough, not even requiring watering while growing.
Here's a pic of the first pins from today, they have 2 weeks

As you can see i have some side growing happening, i read it's due to having space and favorable conditions, and i should harvest them when i finish this flush.
What i have now is some questions regarding air flow and watering.
So, summer here is upon us, and it tends to get hot, i have a thermometer next to the kit and it's usually around 26ºC, i can put it in another place (currently it's in the kitchen, better light), but i would need to put a light on, and the temperature there is around 1ºC lower, do you think it's worth it?
The grow kit instructions says that i should leave it a bit open to circulate the air, by i have 4 cats( lots of hair!) and i could risk a contamination, would it suffice for me to open the bag like twice a day for 5 minutes?
There's not much condensation in the bag, i noticed the pins that are growing on the side have some condensation. Considering the average temperature here, should i water it, even though the instructions says i don't need to?
Thanks for your help

Haha, how ironic. Same kit, same thing from "lilshrooms" grow along. I would birth that cake-kit onto the bottom of the fruiting bag, bottom side down. Make sure your hands are clean and be gentle with it.

By birth, he means to remove it from its little tub it is in at the moment. Like he said, be gentle with it when removing. Good luck! Looks good so far

Yup, exactly. Sorry, wasnt clear. Birthing is a PF Tek term meaning "to remove the cake from its container when fully consolidated" which in this case is that plastic tub the cake is sitting in (PF Tek births out of glass jars or any PP5 plastic container).
After the plastic container is gone, the cake-kit can then fruit freely without being blocked by anything.

Logical, do you know if there are any threads detailing some of the terminology used here? I'd love to have one to link newer cultivators to cause I know the terminology threw me for a loop for a little bit when I first got here a few years ago

There is a Glossary on the site. Its missing some of the more recent jargon/slang that gets used but its a start.

You the man. Yeah it's missing some slang, but that's still a good resource to link. I forgot that exists

got it, will do it when my GF allows my to sanitize the whole bathroom, and myself . I guess after the first flush, i should put it back in the box, so i can do the 12 hours soak on water thing, right?
Thanks for the help!

No soaking at this point. You got fresh mushies.
No need to sanatize the whole bathroom. At this stage get a tub and put 6 inches of wet perilite in the bottom and make a fruiting chamber. The like LC said take it out of the tub gently and birth it on a piece of foil in the tub on the top of the perilite.

Honestly I really enjoy your enthusiasm OP when wanting to get things done right, however you bought yourself a kit online. Mushroom kits like the ones from Fresh Mushrooms, midwest grow kits, and many more are poorly designed. I'm super happy to see that yours is in the least giving off fruits which for many in most cases see failure before they even get to fruiting. I would like to suggest that in the future you endeavor to attempt the BRF tek or if you're feeling bigger than BRF I would try a Monotub tek using rye grain. By experiencing a tek from start to finish without pre-set kits in your way you'll have much bigger successes, which may lead into bigger projects. What to do from here? Build for yourself a Shot Gun Fruiting Chamber, put about 3-5in of Perlite in the bottom with water and place your cake on tinfoil within the chamber. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24179086 Finish out your kit, gather spores, and continue to culture them with agar or make yourself a new spore syringe using the syringe your spores came in. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26011681 Procure a working pressure cooker that can hold 15psi for an hour or so to sterilize your own substrates because they cost too much shipped imo. Good luck OP! You can do it.

You guys are right, better do it right from the start, it was just my fear of failing that lead me to choose an easier path, my plan now is to get the spores from my last flush, and do everything from scratch, the proper way.
Anyway, i Birth it, but haven't got any proper tub or perlite, tomorrow morning i´ll go to the shop and take care of that. Thanks so much for your help, i´ll keep you posted.

Hey guys, wanted to give an update:

I hit a bit of a snag.
So i bought a new tub, and a nice lamp with a 6500K bulb, but i´m having a hard time finding perlite, i went to 2 of the major plants sellers here, and they dont seems to know what it is, i tried explain the best i could, but no one had it, the only thing they said they had similar, or so they said, is expanded clay, but i dont know if there would be any bacteria concerns, so i didn't buy, any ideas for a replacement of perlite? i should i just order it online, the cake seems fine how it is now, Btw since it's fruiting should i water it, or leave it ?

Use can use almost anything. Are you building a SGFC or just a humidity tub?
You can get hydrotron. (Think that's what it's called)
You can use small pebbles like river rock. With a air pump in the bottom like from a fish tank.
You can even research drip sheilds.
You can use hydrated coir as a substitute.
Btw I know these are all old outdated methods cult people. But they have had a history of working.

I found a store online that sells it's, Gona try and go tomorrow. Yeah , building a SGFC for the next flush, only missing the perlite.
This flush i messed up with the drying part , I put them in the oven, and they got all black, and still they weren't completely dried . Finish the drying process in the sun , and now they are cracking but I think it's too late, too much oxidation. Still, I'm gonna trying them this weekend. I'm building a drying box with a PC fan, I hope the next flush goes better.

They should be okay actually as long as you didn't cook them in the oven for too long. Sun drying them wouldn't harm much. I've eaten fruits I thought I'd messed up with the oven before and wow was I wrong.
