Thanks for your help, this community is great. I'm located in Georgia, recently have had a lot of rainfall. Found this one growing near a tree root. Any information helps, thank you!

I have quite a few of these scattered around the yard. I'm no expert, but I believe they are amanita regalis. Tell me what you guys think. Any info on these helps!

Amanita pantherina. If you cut the cap in half you'd see a yellow layer under the skin if they were a. regalis (a. muscaria var. regalis).

I dont believe a. Pantherina can be found here in GA.

Hmm. Wasn't aware of that. Apparently regalis isn't found there either. I'm going with a. augusta in that case. Cut it in half and you'll find out

Well, it's not regalis or augusta. More likely an undescribed subspecies of pantherina: https://www.mushroomexpert.com/amanita_pantherina.html

Can you confirm that the Amanita's above are not death caps? I was thinking about drying them out and taking a few bites to see the effects.

No, it's no death cap. But I would be careful with it. Muscaria is supposed to give a better trip.
