testing lc on agar

hello every one. i have been reading quite a bit on LC. a lot of growers debate on whether it is reliable or not. i am starting a small scale mushroom farm at home. i am presently using LC (water/potatoe water/honey) because it is very easy and fast to inoculate many grain jars through a SHIP. my question is am i better off stop using LC and move on to agar or testing my LCs on agar will be a 100% acurate way to determine whether the tested LC is clean? ALso if it is clean on agar does that mean all my LC jar is clean and i can use it till its done or should i keep on testing every once in a while??

Use just a few drops of LC on your agar plates. I'm not sure sure what the goal of your testing is.
People dislike multi spore syringes because the genetics are not consistent. You can fix this by isolating the best fruits and cloning on agar.

You can't use LCs reliably without agar. More important thing than testing is to inoculate it with clean culture from agar.

Inoculation with Agar is safer I guess, you know that what you put in is contamination free. But you have to open the lid of the jar.
I find LC more elegant. You don't have to open lids once you have your LC ready. Only self healing inoculation ports. But that's a matter of taste.
I used my LC on grain without checking it on agar, and it worked. I inoculated my LC with agar, and worked cleanly.

I am just testing my lc on agar to determine whether or not my lc is clean in order to use to inoculate many grain jars through the SHIP

Here's a video that talks about how this commercial farmer tests his liquid cultures on agar...very cool informative video.

Is that how agar is pronounced??
Now that I think about it I don’t think I’ve ever said it out loud but in my head I always thought it rhymed with rag. Rag-ar. Minus the R.

Ok at 1.4 mins in I had to turn it off. Fuck that guy. It's agar. Not auger. Tool!
