How Do U Deal With Too Many Games? * 1
    #26670232 - 05/14/20 08:46 AM (3 years, 8 months ago)

So I don't think I have a problem, but I've got heaps of games, and I mean heaps.

Xbox One 40 plus games

PS1 & PS2 & PS3 & Xbox 360 combined around 27 games

And PC - around 200 plus (on cd/dvd disc)

So how do you chose what game to play when you've got multiple games and systems

Sometimes I don't know where to start :woooaaahhh:

Eeni meeni miny mo.  Or categorize into genre and pick and choose from there.  The only games I’ve played in the last 5 years on the rarest or occasions have been League Legends and as of 2 nights ago, Knights of the Old Republic...so maybe I’m not the best one to be giving advice on this

Sell them for drugs.

Or at least that's what I did when I had amassed a large collection. Of ps2 games mostly.

The digital age has its downsides. On the flip side I regret getting rid of all my games. God of war, baulders gate, GTA, bloody roar, thirteen, and a stupid amount of war games.

Thirteen is being remade. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fps with a different ascetic.

I've got around that many games too on all my consoles and pc. But it's not hard for me to choose one. I usually go from Destiny to GTA 5 to Super Stardust. And that's it.

Good suggestion, thanks for that

Funny you say that.  Just a few days ago, i sold around 50 games (for PS1,PS2,PS3 & 360) and two PS2 for $120 buck at my local pawnbroker.

Then I went to the supermarket and spent $130 in junkfood!!!!  Well it's kinda a drug

Cool

Most of my PC games are from a charity where i work.  Due to single use steam codes now becoming the norm, they decided not to keep them.  Lucky me was at the right place at the right time, and now they put aside all donated pc games/software for me.

As for choosing a system and which game to play, I've recently came up with this way;

I've got a random app from the google store which lets you create lists and then random through them each time you press the random button.  Well I also have a set of dice which I first roll, then depending on the total numbers between both dice, that's then how many times I press the random button on the random app.  What ever system it lands on is the one I'll play on, as to which game I'll play I just chose one of that systems games.

Not the best way, but it helps narrow down what to play

Thanks for everyone's posts and suggestions :thumbup:

I suggest playing them for 20 mins (20 mins worth of gameplay) each, until one grips you.

Motivation's been my main issue with not getting through my backlog. Plenty of good games, but goddamn. Sometimes I just don't have the positivity to get through the first 20min unless it really grips me.

Though I'm also bad about finishing games that are really good for some reason! Nier and the Witcher have sat on my PC for so long unfinished cause I'm scared to get back into it just to have it end and break my heart haha.

I'm actually happy to spend a hour or more on a game, by that time I usually know if im gonna like it or not.  If I don't end up liking the game within the first few hours?, I just uninstall it as I've got many more games to play/try

I find that you need that motivation not just for games but a lot in life.  If im not motivated to play, i just won't, as i won't enjoy it.  Someone once said that even if you don't feel motivated to do something, just do it and then the  motivation will come.  Nah, i need the motivation first.

I've also got the Witcher 3 and haven't played it for over 6 months, maybe before i die of old age, I'll finish it

:incredible:

Im kinda in the same place. Im currently enjoying Overwatch on Xbox1, Forza 7 on Xbox1, and Halo on PC. I want to play all three but time is limited.

If I were you blessed, I would play each game that looks interesting to you and see if it meets your expectation. If it doesnt, move on and maybe even uninstall. Thats usually what I do, because many games are not as good as their previews/commercials.

Thanks for the advice LogicaL Chaos

Basically what im gonna do is if a game isn't good or awesome, I'll just uninstall it and get rid of that game (like you've suggested).

Here's a screen shot of my pc and as you can see I've got a few games installed.

(and I've still got more then 200 plus pc games to install & try)

I really like playing FPS on pc so im currently playing Call Of Duty World At War (it looks good at 3840 x 2160 with maxed out gfx settings for a 2008 game)

I also have like 200+ games on steam. Most of them acquired through humble bundle.
What I have done is to go to the store page of each game and watch the trailer. Then based on the trailer I categorize the game into one of the following categories:

- Looks interesting
- Looks fun
- Not interested / won't play

Doing this has made it easier to pick up a game for me. Although I must say that it is still a daunting task to play through 200+ games... So I usually just stick to the games I already played lol.

350 games on steam and I don't even know how that happened apart from humble bundles. Plus infinite warez games, so its now impossible for me to chose anything. I guess I play nothing now.

Talk about some gamer problems!

I usually play one or two games that I really love and stick with em. A lot of games I play dont quite catch my interest all the way.
