Troubleshoot - spore syringe to grain - no results

Some background - I’ve done a few grows from spore syringe to rye berries, with no problems. But it’s been a few years and now I’m having issues.
Had some sold syringes. No rye berries in town so I tried WBS. Nothing happened. No mycelium.
So I ordered new syringes from a vendor. More WBS jars. Again, no results.
So I assumed that maybe I’d messed up the WBS. Got some grow bags with rye berries. Inoculated 5 days ago. I know that’s a bit early, but I’m not seeing anything yet.
Wondered if maybe it’s the temperature? I bumped up the heat a bit 2 days ago.
Any thoughts for someone out-of practice?

spores to grain is not the best idea(especially when on premade bags) because the spores aren't necessarily clean and may harbor contaminates, it will still work but will take longer because it takes time for the spores to germinate and fuse. Give it some more time. What's your temperature?

Thanks for this. I did the first jars over a month ago. The second jars were 3 weeks ago. Bags were 5 days ago. All with zero sign of growth.
They were kept around room temperature. Which was why I assumed that might be part of the issue. Thermostat is a guessing game. I’ll try to take an ambient temperature of the room.

I was referring more to the bags when saying give it some time. usually 7-14 days you'll see growth. the first and second jars were bunk obviously. Are you using a grain prep tek?

Having the same issue. First time trying this. Inoculated the bag with the syringe on Friday. There’s only a little moisture in the bag. The grain is loose and looks dry. Is this normal? Indirect window light. Temp is low 70s. Thanks in advance for any help. Cheers!

I'd say definitely give it more time (sometimes 2-3 weeks for germination).. And i recommend looking up pf tek or agar while waiting (better success rates).. Only time will tell for now..
For temps.. Anytime youre comfortable the temp should be fine.. Just try not to go over 80°f

Thanks! Where might i find the best pf tek for dummies link? Will probably go ahead and start, while I wait for the bag to colonize. Thanks so much!

Really appreciate the comments. I’ll hold out on the bags and hope they have better luck than my failed WBS jars.

Any luck? Yesterday I noticed either higher humidity or a very light mycelium growth in the bag. Couldn't tell, but didn't want to mess with the bag. Yesterday was day seven after injecting with the syringe.

Too early to tell at this point if your bag/syringe are gonna work. What sorts of temps is your grow area at during the night and day?

Mine is sitting at 74/76, with indirect natural light.
