My next trial will include adding layers of paper towels between staked HG layers to absorb the condensed steam. Hypothesis is the paper towels will absorb any excess water to aid in clearer HGs at the end of the cooling cycle.

Made 27 the other day and ended up with 3 with condensation. I fricking love these. I pour plates and use these side by side with them. The 20pks are gone. I got 40 before they ended thank goodness.

Hobbit you are as well getting 9 out of 10 without condensation right? With the pickle jar? I always get 9 out of 10 too with the nutcracker container. The secret is using a large container to stack up vertically as much HG's as possible. A 10-Stack inside an outer container seems to be secret.

Yeah. Stacking them is key. Especially after you get them out. I'll stack as high as I can then. 20-30 tall. That helps

I ran 2 trials 1/2 gal (8 HGs) and 1 qt (5 HGs) mason jars. Both seem to have vertical space remaining (1/2 HG height) so I placed paper towels in the bottom of both jars to create pressure between the HG's as I tightened the lids and to hold them in place. The jars were elevated and PC'ed for 90 minutes. And cooled overnight. Results: The top and bottom HGs showed condensation, the HGs between the top and bottom ones were clear as long as the HGs were vertically aligned. I had one HG slip horizontally about 3/8" and the uncovered part showed condensation, the covered part did not.
Conclusion: keep the HGs vertically aligned and compressed to eliminated any horizontal movement during PC cycle to alleviate condensation. The taller the jar, while maintaining vertical alignment and compression results in more HGs without condensation. My trial was in jars with lid cracked and foiled. I do not know about PCing in a no jar environment

I jam 6 per quart jar with the lids flipped over, but maybe that’s why my lids warp sometimes.. hmmm.

I have plastic lids for my quarts and it fits 6 snug. Anyway I did a big 20 batch last round. I had almost all condensation other than 4 plates. Should be fine though.

I did have a hard time getting a few of them out of the jars last time... also had a few of the lids leak. But meh I’ve learned to live with the condensation. Doesn’t bother me one bit. Still my favourite no pour tek to date.

Hobbit and me never get any condensation with the method we use
What would RR say about this tek? Would he like it? Or he would say, nah, nothing like poured plates.
Edit: i feel this thread need more exposure in the gourmet forum, they will benefit as well with this tek. Can we just make a copy of the whole thread and paste it there? I will ask Cron.

Yeah. It would be nice to source the factory. Instead of second party that gets them from china.

On the second source, the description says with flip up lids. The picture is correct, but those are the incorrect ones. It happened to me one time where they post the correct image, but then the description says with flip up lids instead of screw on. You may want to have a look and check that out Mr. Allen.

Did you buy from that source and they sent you the wrong ones? Is confusing because it says frosted round but it also says flip up lids. I mean i can erase that source if they are not the correct ones.

No, I haven't ordered from that source, but the first time I did was from Amazon. It had the correct picture, but then said flip up lids and I ended up with the wrong ones. Maybe they are the correct ones, you must know better than me anyways, I just caught that the picture and description differ so I just wanted to make you aware about it.
I'm waiting for that third source to be in stock, 12 for $20 is a steal!!! Is there anything specific I need to know about those, or are they the same exact ones as the originals?

I think the second source is the correct product, I remember someone bought from that source.
It all indicates that source 3 is exactly the same product as well, several people here confirmed it.
Seems like the third source is out of stock. I don't think that price of 60 cents per container is going to be for much longer. We are even out the market guys haha.

I'm just cautious about anything saying flip-up lids, because that's exactly what I received once, and that will be the one and only time.
What do you mean we are out the market?

If the source 1 increased in price is just matter of time for the other sources to catch up in price until they all reach an equilibrium. That's what i mean. Just supply demand.

Anyone considered using a hydrophobic polish on the containers to help with visibility?
I'm a big fan of the HGs compared to other pots, but sometimes the containers that have had condensation end up a little murky on the inside, reducing visibility. My logic is a polish wouldn't stop the condensation but allow the water to roll off easier after a cook and keep the lid clear inside.
I might give it a go unless someone convinces me otherwise

I mean, you can try with 1 HG. So is there a way to make the lid more thiner with a chemical? Without compromising the visibility of course. The more thiner the more visibility it will have.
