Hey everyone! (long time poster first time lurking)
On friday 22/5/20 a good handful of primarily young specimens of pan cyans was observed growing from manure at 7-9c (44-48f) temp with high wind, they had a decent microclimatic area as protection but not really, the week prior had min temps of 10-15 and max temps of 17-24. A dozen or so tiny-small air-dried mushrooms that were perceivably blue-black (presumably pan cyan) were also observed not 10m away without any foliage as protection, these were cracker dry even whilst still connected to myc, myc looked dry.
The strangest thing about this field was that not a single cubensis was seen, not pins nor dried or fresh mushrooms, as most of my experience with Coprophilous fungi is limited to NNSW fields (between ballina & murwillumbah) this was very strange, I've only ever seen a few cubensis fruit survive these min's.
I have a few questions both for hunters and growers alike, 1are these likely to be more or less potent? 2is this pan cyan "strain" likely to more adapted/suited to cold? should I attempt a clone? 3how typical is this of pan cyan? is this because the mycelium is better established? 4why no cubensis? 5could there be another species that bruises blue-black? (re:dry ones) 6would that mycelium with dried specimens be able to be revived indoors even entirely dry? 7How does one befriend a cow farmer?
I intend on returning to the field and will update, I also plan to find a patch of SE QLD subaeruginosa and will document my findings.

Nice find, some good activity in SEQLD lately. Subs, Cyans and Cubes in the space of a few weeks. What about dressing up in a cow costume with a friend?

The dormant/dead dry copelandia mycelium/manure cake was gifted to a friend, and I have just heard there is visible mycelium appearing, they had merely left it near their heater in a plastic container and watered it lol.
Talk about elite sterile tek xD
