ID Request Auckland NZ
    #26696037 - 05/26/20 01:07 AM (3 years, 7 months ago)

Found these in wood chips in an area where they probably use manure to fertilise the soil. Hills are white and also the stem went translucent. I’ve never actually seen them in the flesh but I don’t think these are legit from my time ghosting on the forum, would be good to know what they are tho.

looks good mate - Wait for a TI

Should wait until the pins open up before picking. Let the spores drop and grow the patch

SUCCESS!!?!?! Went back and had a forage deeper into the brush at the same spot and turned up some goodies - looks legit to me, bruised up nicely after picking. Bruising is much bluer IRL.

Jedi confirmation would be excellent - just weird how they’re not bruising the same. Anyone know why? Che!

They're all subs. I find they bruise the more you handle them. Whether you picked them and bagged them immediately or inspected them could be the difference.

Thanks man just want to be sure

Chucked yesterday’s ones in my iPhone 11 box and opened it up today and they are stiff! I was looking at how to dry them, but seems like that box is good - definitely bone dry and is made from recycled wood.

Also has a spore print on the bottom

Keen for any advice  I’ve looked at a lot of guides online, and I know this won’t be enough to actually dry them. I put some desiccant sachets in the top of the box, seperate from the shrooms

Flick me a link if there is one that you recommend

Just put them somewhere dark (no sunlight) and have a fan blowing gently on them. Or above an electric heat source. A food dehydrator would probably be the best.

Lol cringe "Bone dry" my left sack. Those are fresh as can be.

You need to invest in a food dehydrator.

The Jedi says you should not be harvesting and taking home fresh mushrooms without having a food dehydrator at home.

These are all subs, but your drying method will not cut it. You need a food dehydrator young padawan.

A food dehydrator is the only way.

If you hunt mushrooms without a food dehydrator you are a joke.

All serious mushroom hunters or cultivators looking to store mushrooms long term for consumption by either themselves or other human beings will definitely be drying the stock with a food dehydrator. It's just standard practice.

Not all mushrooms needs a dehydrator, i.e psilocybe semilanceata, and for people who doesn't hunt a lot, other ways are doable. But a dehydrator is the way to go for everyone who's hunting more than once a leap year.

Haha nah I mean the box is very dry, I thought maybe as it’s for technology it has been made that way. I was surprised how much they changed overnight - but I’ve never seen any of the processes before so everything is amazing:ooo:. It’s funny cause I was so deep into the hunt that I had not even thought of what I would do once I found them!

Gonna get one of those dehydrators from tatooine :mushroom2:

Nevermind I'm very stoned and I jumped the gun on that one.

But yeah, food dehydrator is the way to go if you want to dry and store things properly.

They are brusing. Sometimes they bruise more, sometimes less. Definitely subs though. You should let them grow bigger before picking in future.

Yah they’ve bruised up nice now

yeh I know there small, I’d prefer to let them mature but I’m in a bit of a predicament. The patch is in the middle of a busy walking track and some of the beds are currently being worked on by Auckland council. If the council staff see the patch I recon they remove it. Those ones are popping up in the visible area but the majority are under the brush and not visible. Waiting for the ones under the brush to mature while trying to keep it on the down low by removing the visible ones - protect the patch!  :n00bslayer:

Never heard of council removing a patch, ive been here 15 years. If they were removing patches there would be alot less woodchip finds. THey can either:
a) dump new woodchips on it

or

B) spray weeds in the patch (accidentally hitting mushrooms)

Its an area with a full time maintenance crew, theres a bunch of large planted beds in a row, some are really established and then theres a few empty ones with new topsoil so they're planting new plots essentially. hopefully all with woodchip!
