5.7 is huge but reliable. The secret service used to carry them.
--------------------
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Look at those fucking cartridges! The FN Five-seveN holds 20 of them in the non-extended magazine. There are vest-busting rounds for it but they are outlawed because the cops shat their pants at the capacity of such a gun, that weighs about a pound and a half loaded.
Watch this amazing 5.7mm custom round fuck with ballistics gel:
That is a sick gun. .22lr rounds can also penetrate vests

We don't know what scenario we will find ourselves in. So why limit the possible use of our gun?
When against someone with a rifle who is using distance against me, i'd wish to have the long range, flat trajectory of the 5.7 over the 9 , 40, 45 any day. I don't see how the 5.7 could not replace the other cartridges at short ranges as well.
If you live in a gang infested neighborhood like the streets of Chicago you will run into this s*** vs if you live out in the country in Georgia you may never see this type of situation and wonder why someone would have such a gun.
And if you think about school shootings you almost always see them with long guns. Having a 5.7 in your pocket is a great advantage there.
Ted Kennedy exchanged his 9 for an FN 5.7 and has his arguments with more combat experience than most of any human currently alive, and he is still active last time I checked.
I was going to get this gun last year and I think I just convinced myself to make it happen now. Thanks Asante.

Happy for you, its the one I'd want if I had a firearms license
You are right about the flat trajectory and all that but even if you are completely in the dark about firearm specifics, LOOK AT THAT DAMN CARTRIDGE:

You see a slender, highly conical bullet mounted on a necked FAT cartridge, which means that there is a whole lot of powder, and thus power and velocity, behind that bullet.
It looks like a miniature 20mm shell.

I saw an ad for Ruger 380s recently that were on sale for $199
I'm sure it's a you get what you pay for situation but honestly I would sure hope on never having to use it, so it would just be on hand for a last resort defense situation
I would definitely enroll in a class because I'm not exactly a gun expert
