Are My BRF Cakes Good? or Nah?

Hi guys this is my first grow. When I put my BRF cakes into fruiting conditions they started looking extra frosty. I still don't see any pins yet. Is this normal? Also I was having an issue with cobweb mold earlier due to high temperatures/ humidity. I cooled the environment and spread hydrogen peroxide and it seems to help. Any feedback is much appreciated THANK YOU!!!

How long has it been? Are you sure it was cobweb? Cakes routinely fluff up after you birth them.. it’s just the myc growing out a bit. It looks like a cake that wants to knot up. I’d just give it more time

Well they were in the jars for almost six weeks. I think the temperature was too high and it slowed down the colonization possess but I'm not experienced enough to really know... Also, the reason I think it was cobweb mold was that the layer of white fluff was see-through and it didn't seem to have the same structure of mycelium. I did some research on cobweb mold and I read that it can come from high temps/ humidity. The temp I was keeping my jars was about 85 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit with an aquarium heater. The aquarium heater caused a lot of moisture in my jars and I wasn't paying close enough attention. When I finally noticed the jars had a lot of water sitting on the bottom.

Ah! 85-90 is some pretty serious heatage. They look OK to me though now. How long have they been in the chamber? And why is it pink? I’m just curious cuz I’ve seen like 4 different grows in pink lighting just like this recently.

Well in order for mold to grow, there needs to be mold spores present in the jar.. so high heat doesn’t necessarily mean they had cobweb, could have just been myc that grew differently.. especially if it’s an MS grow.. sub strains grow differently than each other.. some are more rhizomorphic and some are more cottony and grow at different speeds so if you’re not use to seeing that in your grows being new, those things can look off. It could’ve been cobweb too, but if it was in your jar, again, it’d have to have gotten through your verm layer and the rest of the cake probably wouldn’t have colonized

I placed them in there four days ago. It's pink due to the grow light. Light is on 8 hours off 16. Humidity is maintained over 85% and less than 90% so right in between 24 hours.

Yes, your right! I was very gentle when handling them thou. I wonder if the water caused the bruising. I'm open to any information on why the bruising occurred.🙏
