Quitting smoking using psilocybin 1

I’m curious if anyone has tried this? I’m going to dose some cubensis tonight and use the trip to try to quit smoking cigarettes. I know there was a Johns Hopkins study on this that had an 80% success rate among the subjects but I do not know the exact details of the study.
I plan on getting comfortable and listening to a “quit smoking” meditation video on YouTube while also focusing on why it’s bad for me and how much better my life will be without them. I have tripped before recreactionally so I do know what to expect.
Any thoughts, suggestions or concerns about this?

I've quit with psylocybin! I did not use any form of meditation but I did have the intention to quit prior to my trip and I have not smoked since!
Your self therapy is probably closer to the John Hopkins study.
It works, have faith, and enjoy!

I like varenicline, it dosnt stop me from wanting to smoke, but it made the withdrawals manageable for me, and seems to stop me from getting hooked, I only have 2 weeks left so im still smoking a few times a week, I gotta stop smoking at all like yesterday so I dont get hooked when I run out of varenicline
the allen carr book is a good read too, didnt help me but I thought it was an enjoyable read

'Magic Mushrooms' Can Help Smokers Break the Habit | Johns Hopkins Medicine
From another article:
"The work followed a classic model for psychedelic therapy in which the participant lies on a couch and wears eyeshades while listening to music. Researchers do not talk to or guide subjects during the trip, but before each session, they do try to prepare people for what they might experience. In Johnson and his colleagues’ study, participants also underwent several weeks of cognitive-behavioral therapy (talk therapy aimed at changing patterns of thinking) before and after taking psilocybin. The drug was given in up to three sessions—one on the target quit date, another two weeks later and a third, optional one eight weeks afterward. The subjects returned to the lab for the next 10 weeks to have their breath and urine tested for evidence of smoking and came back for follow-up meetings six and 12 months after their target quit date.
At the six-month mark, 80 percent of smokers in the pilot study (12 out of 15) had abstained from cigarettes for at least a week, as verified by Breathalyzer and urine analysis—a vast improvement over other smoking cessation therapies, whose efficacy rates are typically less than 35 percent. In a follow-up paper, Johnson and his colleagues reported that 67 percent of participants were still abstinent 12 months after their quit date, and 60 percent of them had not smoked after 16 months or more. Additionally, more than 85 percent of the subjects rated their psilocybin trip as one of the five most meaningful and spiritually significant experiences of their lives. The team is currently more than halfway through a larger, five-year study of 80 people randomized to receive either psilocybin or a nicotine patch at the new Johns Hopkins center." - https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/johns-hopkins-scientists-give-psychedelics-the-serious-treatment/
Best of luck to you! Psilocybin helped me beat alcohol, I was drinking at minimum a pint of brandy per day, but in a few weeks I'll be 6 months alcohol-free. You got this!

it worked for me before these studies ever came out. I can't remember if it worked during the trip or afterwards... but I want to say it was afterwards. I remember tripping and then being in a car with friends and I think I had a cigarette and was pulling it out to light it because everyone else in the car had just got their cigs out and I was like wait.... why the fuck am I doing this?
That realization paired with having just tripped and having the whole I need to respect my body vibe... made me never want to do that shit again. It's stupid.
all that money.. for what? You are paying to pollute yourself. Why? That's why psilocybin works. It shows you that YOU are what matters. Everyone forgets this. They go to their job take on all the emotional bullshit of others and all the shit they gotta deal with and then they think they are getting away from something when they spark a cigarette.
All they are doing is putting all that bullshit and emotional turmoil and stress into a cancerous behavior and acting it out, believing it is some how reducing it from their life.. It isn't. It's reintroducing it in a separate form.
Self empowerment. Hold yourself above self destructive behaviors. Know that you are better than that.. Know that you deserve to have the health you were blessed to contain in the body you were blessed with that holds the consciousness you were blessed with which allows you to make such right choices for your self.
Good luck OP. You already know you can do it. And once you've done it you'll look back on this post and wonder why you even made it, it will be that easy. Envision yourself as someone who doesn't smoke anymore. Commit to seeing yourself that way, and remember constantly why being that version of yourself is important to you.

Thanks all for the input and kind words! I postponed the trip until this evening. I have 7g ground up soaking in lemon as we speak and I must say I’m calm and relaxed but slightly nervous. I’ll let you all know how it goes. Peace

different strokes for different folks.
these days man, I can't even imagine taking a high dose like that. I think deep in my mind is a subtle hint, a subtle knowing, a subtle understanding of what is what... for the past few years everytime I really start thinking about a good sized dose and really start considering a trip... I seem to remember that I already know what it is going to tell me. I much prefer to read a spiritual text or something... it takes me to the same place without the whole thinking I might be dying thing.
But then again I acknowledge that there are some things only a trip can communicate to you. And I don't think I would be able to satisfy my yearning for 'something more' with spiritual texts alone if it weren't for the trips I have had in my past which rocked my world.
Be careful with that 7g OP and good luck. Don't make it about quitting cigs either, just let it be what it will be.

All these things psychedelics can do for people has always been known. Now we're getting the proof to back it up. I'mm in my late 30s. When I was 18,19, early 20s. What drugs did we do? Lsd, mushrooms, MDMA, psychedelic drugs. Then what happened in earlish years 2000. US government took away those good drugs. Gave us meth, herion, all these terrible drugs. Opioid pandemic. Pharmacitucals. That's the war on drugs!

Buy American spirits and microdose
--------------------
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

You still dread quitting but with American spirits it is easier.
