I am not sure this is the right forum for this post. Does anyone have suggestions for fans inside of a fruiting chamber. 93-94%RH has been killing the fans I've been using within a matter of months. The only suitable wet area fans are 14 inch or larger and I am wanting something smaller for evening out the mist distribution. I can find small fans looking like computer fans for close to $90 each and 12 or 24v. I'd love to find something sized in between and 110v. I am curious how other growers approach this? My grow space is a 20' shipping container. Humidity is provided by a high pressure misting system.

I found a really good deal on ebmpast fans from a supplier in China off of alibaba. They're probably not suitable for a 20' container however. You could also check out mouser or some place similar and use a filter for ip67 or ip68 fans and 110v.

Don't discount the fans I showed.. one of those 4" fans that run at 156 CFM will dry out mushrooms farthest away in short order if left on medium or higher speed in a roughly 7 ft tall grow space even when not blowing directly on the mushrooms. They are a lot more powerful than you think.

I wasn't discounting them, just offering other sources. The ones I have only move 48cfm if I recall correctly, which is why I mentioned they probably wouldn't be suitable for a large area. But they only cost 5 dollars each when they are $90 fans retail. Good to know that relatively small high cfm fans are a good option for air circulation in a large area.

oh well I just mean in general sized wise. It had occurred to me what the OP said in his op. And so I just got to thinking to make mention that they were stronger than one might think offhand, like I had beforehand, is all.

You ever think of a bathroom exhaust fan?

I am using a ventech ip4 in my 10 x 4 room. It is going on 3 years now with no problems and it is always in my room and alway on. I also have a high-pressure mist in my room. But I bet you have a high dollar system. I built mine form a pressure washer.

Are we talking about exhaust fans or fans which mix the air? The later I guess don't need some "waterproof" rating because they push humid air away from them.

The fans that push the humid air.. the circulation fans.. and yes they do need to be water proof to last long. The water gets concentrated on the fan and will often drip from the fan as it pulls all the fog through the fan... definitely want the water proof/resistant or some such rating. Like I gave in the link as an example. And I get a nice thick fog. Running strong the fans are for me.

Thanks on all of that. Exhaust fan was simple using an 8" inline duct fan designed for wet conditions but the mist and circulation fans take a real beating. Those 4" fans in the link will be perfect for keeping the air moving between rows of shelves.
