Papaver Somniferum questions

Hey all, im usually over on the Mushroom hunting and ID forums, my skills here have not been nearly as refined, I did some broad research through google and bing which yielded very few results so i figured where else could provide such info as good ole shroomery, more importantly the EBG.
last fall i very messily planted some P.S. in my pots, I didnt even think they would grow but to my surprise some of them actually did, its what appears to be mixed strains of Tasmanian (Purple and White), and smaller different species. My main question is about the alkaloid content of the Stem/Leaf/Root material..
I remember reading somewhere that the roots (Could) contain morphine, but it sounded a bit off as all I have ever read was about the pods and 1st 2" of stem below it. So as far as harvesting the goodies from the rest of the plant, is there a noticeable alkaloid content in the stem/leaf and root system?
Thanks in advance, ill try and post some pics later for googly oogly

I actually decided that I needed a bit more last night, so I made some tea out of a mixture of California Poppy and Opium Poppy Foliage.
Let's just say, once I laid back, and hit the bed, I was never able to get up again! I was totally sedated, and it was a chore to even move!
Just like Cannabis contains THC at all stages of growth, Poppies contain Morphine too, but much more so prior to bolting, and during flowering.

Lol, that helps, thanks...maybe I’ll just experiment with it myself and go from there, I plan on posting some pics shortly, would like to have the diff. Species ID’d.

Here are the pictures, bare with me cause I’m doing this all on a phone while working.
This one is pretty sure is Tasmanian. Correct me if I’m wrong please

This is the one I’m not too sure about, if you can tell, it’s growing more like a bush, it’s only 1 plant, with about 7 or 8 blooms/pods. The pods have that noticeable purple fuzz, and leaves are distinctly different from that “lettuce look”.

Thanks in advance.

#1 looks like Taz or Persian white #2 might be hen and chicks. Colors vary a lot from what I've seen.
Not sure about alkaloid content in the roots. Maybe trace amounts. It's my understanding the pharm industry uses "poppy straw" for industrial production so if you've got chemicals and time try a full plant extract.

#2 isn't an opium poppy, it's Papaver Orientale.

Thank you, yea that 2nd one through me off, the seeds i planted came from grocery store bread seed, so im assuming it just got mixed in...i was of the understanding that they didnt use Oriental for bread seed use..oh well thank you!
a note: that oriental does produce some very dark and sticky latex, albeit without active opiate alkaloids. I have read that they do contain other muscle relaxers however.

Orientale seeds aren't normally used for food, but sometimes they are, such in your case
