Hoping for ID, Sonoma County
    #26691386 - 05/23/20 10:33 PM (3 years, 8 months ago)

Spent hours trying to positively ID. Hoping allenii, fearing galerina. Decided to pull them out after I couldn’t convince my toddler to stop picking them.

Hundreds on the property. Thoughts?

Habitat:
Wood chips. About 15 miles from coast. Ubiquitous, primarily in clusters but not exclusively.

Gills:
Tan to orange. See images.

Stem:
Thick, medium length. On many is bulbous at base.

Cap:
Up to 2.5” in diameter.

Spore print color:
Brown to rust.

Bruising:
None.

Other information:
Smells a bit grassy.

Looks To Be An Agrocybe Sp, Definitely Nothing Active.

They look like an Agrocybe species, try comparing with A. putaminum.

Welcome to the Shroomery. :toast:

Thanks and appreciate the welcome! Y’all move fast

A relief to know that they’re not toxic — I saw someone here eats them, something you’d recommend?
