I like the little birds, they're fun to watch. Don't get me wrong, large birds are pretty dope too...but those little guys have so much energy & personality.
I love tiny birds

Personally I love the large birds, remind me somewhat of a Roc from fantasy stories or phoenixes.

We get hella box turtles around here, just chilling in the sun. Lots of big ass black rat snakes and woodland rattlers too. My dog looks at every single stick suspiciously at this point
Lately I'm noticing a lot of foxes and deer all having their babies in the same meadow. It's pretty cool. There are a lot of bears here too, but they seem to like to hang out up in the hills on the rocks. I've seen massive eastern coyotes here too(seriously. they're like German Shepherd sized ), but I don't think there's any hanging out nearby, I think the reason why there's so many fox litters and fawns around here is because the larger predators don't really hang around here as much right now.

VajraWarrior said: You can usually tell snappers from the mouth structure, it looks more like a vice from what I can gather and the shells are different too. You can help those guys out just pick them up way beyond the mouth. They’re also a bit more ornery than most turtles and will fight you if you try to help. Also I think they get pretty big too, but I haven’t seen any in the wild.
This is an excellent opportunity for me to nerd out..
Common snappers you can pick up by the tail, unless they’re about a foot long in shell length. Once they get that big it’s best to corral them into a box or bucket because their tails aren’t strong enough to support their weight. Holding them by the tail keeps your flesh outside their jaw range. Alligator snappers heads are too big to flip backwards over their shells so you can hold them by the carapace above/behind their heads and tails without them being able to reach you.
Common snappers are called Chelydra Serpentina because their necks are really long and they can reach you pretty much anywhere, except their tails. I’d rather deal with an Alligator snapper 2 1/2 feet long than a common snapper over a foot. Alligator snappers pretty much just open their mouths and wait for you to stick something in there where commons will strike out at you. But if you’re going to get bit by one it’s better to be bit by a common because a gator snapper will take off anything it gets ahold of. Awesome turtles

I think we get the alligator snappers around here so I don’t have to worry about them nipping things off my finger tips.
