Grains drying during pc

I’m wondering if my wbs is getting too dry from pcing it. I’m prepping it the same as when I used an instant pot but it seems like since I got the presto my jars take way longer to colonize.
I’ve been running them an hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours at around 16 psi.
They come out looking dark and wettish but after shaking and a day or so look normal.
For example here’s a jar going now. The wbs looks normal to me but idk, its really slow.

I thought it was the warm temps lately but I fixed that and it helped but they’re still slow. What really made me wonder was this Amazonian shoebox I have going. It took a couple weeks to colonize the jar but then ran the coir to 100% in four days. Something that fast on coir should be quick in the jar too.

Are you letting the PC depressurize on its own? Pulling the weight off early can cause the water in the jars to rapid boil and result in loss of moisture.

How many jars do you run at once and what size pc do you have?

It's just the pin culture you have. Usually I prepare my oats and WBS on the dry side. Mushroom mycelium will be way faster on drier hydrated grains that wetter.

I’m not familiar with WBS, but that is how my rye grain looked, as well as the mycelial growth on the rye after I cooked the grain too long. I rolled the time back 15 minutes and don’t have contams, and growth is much faster.

Well this like 20 jars of 11 different cultures.
It’s a presto 23 running 10 jars normally.
I let it sit overnight usually or if I run it in the morning I’ll let it sit 5-8 hours.

I’m not sure that’s what it is, it just looked a lot like what happened to me. Mine ended up stalling after a week with very little growth up to that point.
