Put cold water in coir/verm bucket mix, should I just start a new one?

Ok, so I pasteurized the coir with boiling water, following damion5050 tek. I was dealing with new coir i've bought, and it seemed more denser than the ones i've used before thus there was bits of dry coir. I let it rest for about 2 hours then I gave about 1/3 a quart of tap water and dumped it in there, which gave it good field capacity. Though, I am insecure that I messed up the pasteurization process by introducing cold water, which somewhat lowered the overall temperature of the coir. I am going to go ahead and dump it out, but for future reference and knowledge, does adding cold water to the bucket while it is cooling down and doings its thing mess up the proccess?

No need to pasteurize coir/verm anyway. Good to go

What do you mean? Is there anything you can point me to about that? I've been doing the same tek for about 5 years so i'm a little outdated probably lol, thanks

There’s tons of stuff but you can hydrate with cold tap water and be fine.
Apparently after doing experiments the main benefit to using hot water is that the myc moves a little faster in cooked coir.

Yeah, it seems over the past five years or so people have been pasteurizing it less and less. First it was the pseudo bucket "pasteurization"- just dumping boiling water in a bucket with the coir, putting a lid on it, and letting it cool. Now more and more people are just hydrating it with hot/warm/tepid water from the tap and just pretty much spawning as soon as it's hydrated. I started growing within the past few years and I've always done the boiling water method myself

Yeah I dump boiling water in a bucket too.
It’s a good middle ground. Cooks it but doesn’t take forever until you can use it.
