Lots of pins, but seem to be growing extremely slow. PICS

Hello to all and hope everyone is having a fantastic Friday. I have some BRF cakes that have been in a SGFC for a while now. It is my first grow but I spent countless hours on this site reading and reading and then reading some more before I started.

Anyways everything has gone to plan and all of the jars I inoculated successfully colonized and consolidated. My question is I have read most pins take 4 to 5 days to fully mature. When my pins started there were a ton and I was super excited but growth has been very slow.

These pins pretty much all started 4 to 5 days ago and seem to still be getting bigger but at this rate they will take 3 weeks to get to a mature size.

Also on the last picture there is a strange growth on the top left of the cake. Not sure if its anything to be concerned with or not. Any tips or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

1st attempt was a success with BRF. Now what?

Just keep misting the perlite and lightly the parts of the cake that don’t have pins on them, don’t mist the pins. Keep fanning several times a day. What is your misting/fanning schedule?

I have been misting 3 to 5 times a day and I fan when I mist. My fanning is just 4 or 5 big fans with the lid and back on. I keep going back and forth from thinking they are to wet to thinking they are to dry. So some days I have misted 6 times and some days I have misted twice. No considerable difference either way. I have the SGFC made to spec. Also have a 6500k shop light on them 12/12. I have been misting the pins directly though. I dont think I would even be able to successfully mist the cake with no pins and miss the pins.

The way to mist is just to mist above the cakes and let the mist fall on everything below. Make sure you're only misting when the cakes need it.

I read the right up with pictures on this site about misting. I'm still getting the eye for it at this point. At the beginning it seemed like no matter how much I misted I never got that glistening look that I was going for. Now with the assistance of a super bright led flashlight I use I can see when they are glistening with moisture and not soaked. It seems like within an hour though that glisten is gone. I have basically adapted a schedule of 8:00 am light on, mist, and fan. Noon I mist and fan again, then sometime between 6 and midnight I will mist and fan 1 or 2 more times. Killing the light at the 12 hour mark from when I turned it on.
