Run in's with the public/police/parks and wildlife??
    #26686883 - 05/21/20 11:34 PM (3 years, 8 months ago)

Hey all,

Has anyone had any difficult ruin in's with any of the above?

What do you do?

I have found a heap along a fairly busy road so have taken to collecting with a jacket on and putting them in my pockets, rather than carrying a bag.

I get many looks and a parks vehicle slowed down but no one has asked me anything as yet.

I did once carry a garbage bag with a paper bag inside.  I collected some rubbish at the same time but put the actives in the paper bag.  This did seem to attract less attention and is probably the best way if you think the police might stop for a look.

Cheers

I prefer places without people, but if I have to go picking somewhere slightly public, I put small plastic bags in the pockets of my jacket and get on with it. I don't worry about the police, but if I were in the US, I probably wouldn't go anywhere near the public.
Never had any problems with wildlife either, other than monkeys and tigers, not much one can do about those. Domestic animals are worse. Buffalos are nice, they don't give a fuck, but I won't go too close to the elephants. Cows are usually ok, but if they like people, they can get very annoying. Hard to pick anything in the middle of a cow herd. Horses gets curious too, but at least they don't trample over all the mushrooms. Goats and sheep are never a problem. Dogs can be viscous, carry a stick. They're usually not a problem during daylight hours, but this is not always the case.
