In the old days, the LSD comedown was a thorn in my side. I'd have a great trip and then lay there for hours thinking of shitty things, wishing I could sleep.
Decades passed and I got into shrooms. I like the fact that I can get to sleep afterwards, not like LSD, which left me wide awake for hours. Still, at this age, I don't want have after-trip insomnia, so here's what I do.
I make sure I get a full night of sleep before I trip. And no naps during the day. Then, half way through the trip I take diphenhydramine. Just one pill. By the end of the trip I'm naturally sleepy and the diph helps me drift off and sleep for at least 6-7 hours.

Benzos are best.
Preferability xanax or klonopin over ativan. They act rapidly and will help you sleep. Phenibut is a good legal alternative to the above mentioned, however it's much less potent. All carry risks and are habit forming.
Other medications that may be useful are antihistamines like benadryl or vistaril (the latter requiring a prescription) as these medications are anxiolytic and sedating.
Muscle relaxers such as flexeril or zanaflex are sedating.

Just a little disclaimer/warning/ word of advice here:
If your having to take a sedative medication/drug to comedown you may be in need of a reassessment of how you plan & prepare for a psychedelic experience.
Other than the fact that taking those kinds of drugs are a slippery slope, and their obvious side effects, they really should only be used with a psychedelic if there is a real emergency (psychological and/or physical). Even then, that is a rare event when tripping for most people. If you do use it like that, don’t ever - ever let it become habit. Beware.
You already know mushrooms can potentially keep you awake for a while after taking them, wanting the trip to end after only tripping for 4/5 hours into the trip - when you know the substance can potentially be active at some level for up to 6-9 Hours (more or less) , is irresponsible and lazy. It might seem like a tempting shortcut - but it’s a trap...
I recommend you don’t go down that road. I’ve seen normal people become cowards, unable to honestly face themselves and their own mind’s & reflection while tripping - all because they got used to having a benzodiazepine either before, or during, or after a mushroom trip, and couldn’t get over their fear and/or anxiety, unable to have a psychedelic experience/trip without the drug.
(A problem which they literally created themselves, knowingly or unknowingly, via classical conditioning - by using it as a shortcut)
It’s sad and pathetic. So do yourself a big favor and be careful about what you do. No such thing as a free lunch.
