After my jars were perfectly colonized, I mixed it in a 1:1 ratio with coco coir and let it sit and fruited it about a week later. It has been about 14 days now. First, the caps seem to be deformed looking? Not sure why it is doing this? Too dry? Too much humidity? I mist it couple times a day because the cracking seemed like it was too dry. The bottle that I use to mist had water + essential oil in it. I washed it out pretty thoroughly but maybe there was a trace amount of essential oil left which mutated the caps? Are they still edible? There is no contamination odor or sign that I can see. I'm not sure if I can do something to save things here. What would happen if I broke up the entire substrate and let it recolonize again? Or if I dunked it in water? Thanks for any advice in advance!

The fruits look normal. Why is the substrate broken in the center? Did you have to cut something out of it? It looks like it is really dry.
Also what is on the other end of the wire running into your FC? You shouldn't need anything in the FC no heater, fogger, Ultrasonic.

I'm not sure why it is cracked. It is only 1" in depth so maybe it is cracking apart due to some reason. I did not drop it or cut anything out of it yet. The wire is a temp sensor.

Sub looks dry as a bone and very thin (could be that's why it's so dry?). I would pour some water around the edges of the tub and let the sub soak it up. This might take several iterations. Don't pour a ton of water on it at a time. My guess is that it will soak it up like a sponge. It doesn't hurt to leave a tiny bit of water in the bottom when you're done. I would not break it all up and start again at this point. You should be able to get some decent fruits out of it once it's hydrated. Keep watering it every other day if it needs it. It should be moist but not sopping wet.
