ID Request Tasmania

Hey guys this is my second hunt in southern Tasmania, this time instead of hunting in the forests I decided to try a beach that was suggested to me, after a few hours with little luck I came across a spot that seemed to be the perfect environment, a damp, mossy, grassy area with plenty of tree debris and the typical ferns and cut trees that make an ideal location not for from the beach itself.
These shrooms are definitely different to my last batch and I haven’t noticed any blue bruising however which gives me doubts although they still fit the description and are similar to shrooms others have found. They are a brown/gold colour on top that is slightly darker in the center with white stems and tanned gills but no blue around the edges of the cap like last time.
Here are some pictures and I’ll work on a spore prints overnight, cheers.

Not a Psilocybe.
Beaches arent ideal locations, someone may have stumbled upon them there, but your far better off looking in hilly regions and suburban landscaping.

Hmm, I guess I should go back to my first location. I noticed a few people saying near beaches at sea level were the best location but I was looking for a solid 3 hours. Thanks anyway 🙂

I have found plenty at sea level and near beaches, but not in the sandy soil.
In my recent finds in southern Tas, if there's bracken, the soil is soft/damp and there's part sun, then you're a good chance of finding them.

Crikey, I’d be over the moon in I found just 10 in a patch let alone that many! I think I’ll wait till after the weekend, it’s best to hunt after a couple days of rain correct?

Isnt sea level the surface of the ocean? Just above sea level you probably mean.

I havent found anything this season, and having a private patch even if its not too many is the best IMO. 2-7 days after rain is what i would reccomend. If you go right after rain they might still just be pins. But if its season they could be fruting at any time really.

Well yes, I guess you're right!! I have found bucket loads less than 20m above sea level!! I guess I'm just going agianst the belief that I (and many others had) that elevated areas were better

A good patch can be anywhere (elevation-wise)... well not anywhere but a few metres-hundreds of metres above sea level. However, higher elevations are more likely to fruit earlier due to colder temperatures and higher rainfall.

I was the one that found them at a beach, particular spot has yielded several bountiful flushes. they aren't ideal locations but the area has a gully with a creek-bed and lots of old dead eucalyptus/bracken that faces south, all factors add up its not just a random spot.I suggest taking OOISI'S advice and searching in eucalypt/woodchip beds.

Ahh I see, I might even know a location like that near a beach, it’s usually too “populated” to scope it out though, I was considering going there early in the morning sometime.

Fairly certain I located some this time around but would just like to make sure I get the ok from you guys! all in damp bracken, all a light gold top, white stem and white-tan gills with lots of blue bruising.
Thanks a bunch again to all you guys for helping 🙂
