Rye berries growth

Im sure you guys get this often, but you guys think that I should mix this yet to get it to move more towards the rest of bag? It's a 5lb rye bag with 10cc GT and am at day 10 in a sealed tub hovering around 78°-80°
Once I am fully colonized, I plan to mix into a bulk mono tub (with a 2"/3"layer of perlite and a aluminum foil barrier) without holes.
I have done all my research and know that it will need light and fanned 2-3 times a day.
I planned to do what I read. 1" layer of sub, then thin layer of grain and so forth until my 10lbs of sub is used up
Unfortunately my first attempt got what I can only guess, wet spots. How disappointing. Spent over 3 weeks before that happened ☹️ it was when I figured, screw those all in one bags!! I believe that was part of the reason. Was getting more growth on the sub.
Anyways, sorry for the rant.lol lmk if everything sounds and looks good so far.
Stay Safe all!

Dont need any perlite or foil. Look up the current teks on monotubs with micro pore tape or unmodified tubs. Bag looks good, but I'd lower those temps down to at least 75F. 80F is probably ok but you are flirting with making bacteria pretty happy.

Ok thanks. Even with putting direct in the tub (no holes for fanning) it would be ok without the perlite And barrier?
So what, just make sure that I keep it sprayed (not dri

There's still a lot of uncolonized grains. If you're going to be fruiting them as blocks, I'd say no they're not ready yet. Plus like a cake once they reach 100% colonization they need some time to consolidate, like a week or so. If not they'll be consolidating as they're drying out loosing precious moisture before they start fruiting.

Thanks for the response bro!
Yeah, I planned to do a mono with a couple inch bottom layer of Perlite, then a foil barrier. Then the 1" substrate followed by a thin layer of colonized grain, then repeat until I reach about 3" or so

Assuming your tub wins the fight, the yellow may go away and you can get a few flushes. My first box had a pool of metabolites on the bottom, probably because I had made it way, way too wet. Then right as it was flushing, the yellow went away. I was going to toss it out but gave it a chance. It ended up doing 4 flushes. Good luck.
Also, you may want to skip the liner from now on. There may be more contams or side pins that you can not see.

Well, I guess I see why spraying the lower black is important to help eliminate side pinning. As long as I pull the side pins, in theory they should be ok right? it pulled away from the sides, all the way around so there is room to pull side pins once ready. I'm hoping that more will pop up in the rest of the chamber.

It's crazy how quick they start to grow once it has started!

The side pins are not caused by light. You get side pins when the side is a more appealing environment/climate for mushrooms. It means you're surface conditions weren't perfect. You should let them grow out though, they'll work their way up and get big like all the others.

A good light will help them grow straight up for easier harvest but either way they'll get big. The only annoying part is cleaning the dirt off but you can just use a sharp knife or razor blade to cut it off.

Yeah. I have a light wand and a stick on tap light I just got (energizer brand) just have not got a chance to install yet. I am using a clip on light with one of those swirly bulbs. I usually try to keep it as centered as possible.
I imagine it will be some fun cleaning them up.lol
I did get a alcok dehydrator though to dry them right away.

Also I am curious, I have read that you have to pick the whole harvest just shortly after the veil breaks. From what I read, it said no matter what the size of them 🤔
Is this true? Or could I just pull them as they are ready? Only reason that I ask is due to one of them being pretty big and the majority small or just starting to pin.

Pictures would help. If it's just a few that are ready, cut the caps off the top. Once more than half of them are ready, puck everything. That way your sub starts working on a second flush

That substrate is not directly contacting the perlite is it?
Even if the sub is wrapped in plastic, having it directly on top of the perlite, preventing evaporation, may be defeating the purpose - but, sorry I can't really tell from the photo...

I assume these are no good...I managed to get 1 good bag out of 4 😞 weird.. these for the B+ , any suggestions why? I maintained 75-78° f.
The syringe I got was loaded with spores, not sure if that was a issue?
I got the grain and sub from mycohaus and they gave me a 20% off code plus said would replace the 1 bag. These other two just happened. The one that was fine is just getting ready to pin.
Such a disappointed start . Any help or tips as to why, would be sweet 👍🏻

Probably going spores to grain. Spore syringes are known to be clean to really dirty and all the in between. Learn agar. It's fun and increases success of getting fruits

Agar is cheap enough it’s definitely worth learning for the results you get.
Spores to grain can work but it completely depends on how clean the syringes were made. I got lucky and bought four from a big vendor when I started and they were very clean, I did probably 30 jars without losing one and even made clean lcs.
The other issue could be your sterile technique making and pcing the bags.
