A humble request

Habitat: MD Woods between some trees.
Stem: Hollow but meaty stem.
Cap: Pics - the cap felt almost furry in a way. Kind of like a kiwi in a way but not quite.
Spore print color: Black or very dark purple.
Bruising: none
Other information: These are strong dudes, it took some actual force to pick one

Also, any ideas about this lonely one? Growing out of a dead tree, unsure but spore print seems purpleish from dusting on the cap. Sorry about the blurry pics, I should’ve checked before I left the woods lol. I looked again and they really are bad but a ballpark could help me narrow something down maybe.

Thanks! I may try to grow these out soon. I’ve been looking for something cool that’s not really edible or active to grow lol. I don’t know why I just want to wing it with something random. I suppose an edible would be cool too though

Well it must be on then. Is it one of those that has to interact with tree roots and stuff? It was hanging out near a tree where I usually spot morels. Same situation.
I’ll have to bust out the old Lacrymaria for The Home Cultivator book I found growing next to these in the woods

I have never known of anybody deliberately trying to cultivate them. I just know that I love to eat them, and it would be cool if someone could actually do so

So you do eat these same type that I found? I read that some people consider them edible, some not.
The “not normally cultivated” aspect is what intrigues me about things I find. I want to grow something from almost totally in the dark. I’ve grown cubes and Mexicana and read some about wood lovers so I know general techniques but I’d like to just mess around and see if something works.
