So I'm building my hood right now with a filter I got from FP. It's a 24x36. For my filter (could be different for others) they sourced it from the HEPA Corporation (hepa.com) and it is the HEPA-SEP series. Literally said it right on the label lol. Wish I knew that. I would have gotten it from the source itself and probably saved myself some money
I've bought a couple smaller HEPA from them, honestly it was a fair price I thought. Their blowers, no way.
24 x 36 is a good choice. I found I can do anything with a 12×24 that I can with a 24 x 24" just as easy. The width is what's important IME, you can fit more on the table. So I built a small 12 x 24" so I can move it around. When I have a permanent spot for one I'm gonna go big.

They are practically the only place that will sell you a single new HEPA filter and ship it to you via cheap UPS type carriers. Besides the Koch Biomax filters on eBay from Zoro which are decent but takes 2+ months and the price seems to have gone WAY up over the last year.

My HEPA from spycor was shipped via FedEx. Was actually upset cause some of the metal fins were bent when it was received so I had to bend them back out. The HEPA had to be made though and took around 3-4 weeks

Interesting. So Spycor will sell single HEPA's? I always thought you had to buy multiple from them. That's not an awful wait fortunately

FP? Yeah they're pretty good about shipping too. They use those boards on either side of the filter. The first filter I ordered from them had some bent pins but they made it right.
