I use an ultrasonic in a tote with a digital humidistat controller on my 8x8 tent. Cost around 500 to build, it has a pressurised water line with float switch so filling manually isn't required. I think there's 6 discs on the mist maker. I used to have one with 12 but it didn't do the job any better, just a little faster. I never have to touch it unless I want to alter the humidity and I only clean it out once a year. Takes a half hour.

Just once a year? My main reason for not wanting to do a ultra was because I was under the impression they needed weekly cleaning. Do you add bleach to the tote every so often? Also is that are intake or exhaust at the bottom? And do you use a circulating fan inside? Any more info or pics in your setup and anything you're happy you did/wish you did differently would be very much appreciated.

It may be recommended to clean it more often than I do, but I can guarantee it's not required. I clean it once a year and had to replace the mist make once in the last few years. RARELY get any contams during fruiting. I don't use a circulating fan in the tent. I find it causes too much drying of the sub surface. The lower duct goes to a 4" exhaust fan which runs four times a day, for three minutes per cycle. I can tell that the exhaust in on while that pic was taken by the way the tent is puckered in. As far as regrets, I don't have many, it seems to run pretty seamlessly. I thought about mounting the fogger on brackets off the ceiling to save floor space and keep cleaning easy. I don't like to have much on the floor if I can help it. I keep a jar under the duct in the tent to catch the dripping from the duct, not sure how that could be solved any differently...perhaps a solid plumbed drain? It would be nice to have a drain on the floor of the tent as a whole. I am planning on scrapping the tent and simply framing in a room with linoleum floor and mould resistant walls.
