P.Subs in QLD (interesting find)

Hey guys, I found my first Subs of the year in QLD today which completely caught me by surprise, as this is extremely early in the season, which made me begin to wonder why they are fruiting so early? Recently there has been alot of wind and temps have never really been above 18 degrees Celsius. Although we would be lucky to see minimum temperatures in the single digits which is the main reason as to why it has caught me off guard as I assumed you would only start to see them when temps dropped to around 5 degrees at night? Furthermore cloud cover has been around 50-80% over this week, with light drizzling rain here and there. so based off what I have found, is longer exposure to cooler temperatures good for finding subs even if the temperatures aren't even that low? so adding all these factors together, Daylight savings (sundown at 5-5:30), cloud cover, wind chill, could Subs be found further north than anticipated given these ideal conditions?
Thanks in advance.

My bad. Hey I remember you from the ID request you posted last year.
You should start a QLD season actives thread if there isn’t already one.

Subs in QLD?!
There I was thinking that when I move back to Bris from Melbs I will be having to learn to chase a different species. How wonderful!

I figure youd need to go down near the stanthorpe region to have the right climate. Have you been down that way for a look ever?

Yeah, you would think that Stanthorpe would have an optimal climate, but I’m only 40km or so inland from the sea and I just found another patch today, it wouldn’t surprise me if you could find subs around Coolangatta and the tweed area. Also I reckon out toward Roma west of brissy you would have a good chance.

That's a very interesting find indeed, ground breaking to say the least. It gets the ask the question on what is possible in the Queensland bush I must say.
