Possible Verticillium?
    #26682090 - 05/19/20 10:30 PM (3 years, 8 months ago)

One picture of possible contamination and another picture of the tub.
Anyone know what this could be?
Thank you in advance for any information given. It is greatly appreciated.

So the brownish color at the base of the stems isn't any contamination? The pictures I've seen of verticillium on here kind of resembles what I got, but the stems aren't splitting and the caps are fine.

Just want to identify what this could possibly be if anything, so in future grows I can properly negate encountering it again.

That looks like some kind of bacterial contamination like verticillium or possibly pseudomas. Make sure you dehydrate the really well and they will be just fine. I recommend 24 hrs in a food dehydrator.

Bacterial was my guess as well. I just wanted to get a few other opinions.
Thank you.

Thank you for the kind words. It did turn out very nice actually. Aside from the probable bacterial contamination.

This was a two bin grow, the other bin was tossed due to penicillin mold. So I'm grateful this one turned out as well as it did.

Verticillium isn't a bacteria, it's a fungus. And I don't see anything that looks like verticillium as far as I know. But now that I look again a bit closer, that brownish shit at the base of those few stems looks like maybe it could be a pseudomonas infection. But it shouldn't be anything to worry about. Cut that part off, dry the rest at high temps, and enjoy. Either way, nice tub
