Weighing Milligrams / DMT for accurate dose?

Hello again my fellow lovelys, I been searching a while but have not found my answer.
How do I weigh Milligrams? My current scale was purchased specifically for weighing Milligrams but it's just not sensitive enough to detect changes at those weights.
I'm going to be attempting to weigh out 15mg / 0.015 grams of DMT which is a very tiny amount. Does anybody have any experience weighing such small amounts? I current scale costed $50 and it can not remotely get the job done.
Someone told me to, "look into a jewelers scale for weighing diamonds and other precious stones, otherwise only lab grade equipment will be that accurate." But I wanted to ask here you all for thoughts and ideas. Thanks again!

The difference between .01 and .02 will be negligible. Not many scales do the third decimal.

Even the Gemini-20 (a milligram scale 20x0.001) isn't accurate below 35mg. Sometimes it doesn't register small weights.
The best thing I've found is a measuring spoon set. They sell a set of 5 (tad, dash, pinch, smidgen, and drop).
The smidgen is 0.15 mL while the drop is 0.05 mL, which in terms of dry weight for average, yellow, somewhat fluffy DMT is about 45mg and 15mg respectively. After dealing with several piles like this, sizing them up becomes more natural. Be sure to clean your measuring spoons if they get melted residue on them!

Eyeballing piles or using a spoon is not a good idea for measuring DMT because DMT can be variable in density. I used to use a size 0 capsule for dosing dmt, because a full cap was about 50mg. My dmt was fluffy back then, and I re-x it to a much higher density now. Checkout what 50mg of dense DMT looks like in a capsule, looks like maybe 15mg of average DMT crystals.

I also wondered how people accurately measure small amounts. Some seem to work well enough but needs to be more precise.
Damn that looks beautiful. How do you re-x? Little bit of warm naphtha or heptane?

Cheap mg scales often aren't that sensitive. Put something on the scale first, like a penny, and then weigh on top of that.

The above advice is correct -- you will find that if you use a modestly weighted bowl (like a small container lid that weighs a few grams), tare the weight to zero, and then apply your spice, it will register the added weight far better. On the cheap mg scales, they operate best in a "sweet spot" around the middle of their weight range-- mine never sees any accuracy until I have already tared it with an object on it that brings it to within this range-- then it it far more responsive to tiny powder amounts.

Once you're familiar with a given batch, I find the measuring spoons and eyeballing to work fine. That looks nice btw, the corked glass :]
