Let's count the ways to leave behind a legacy:
Children
The Arts
Music
Literature
Sports
Politics
War/Conquest
Social Change
Exploration
Invention
I realize there are a zillions subcategories, but what major things or ways have I missed?
Is leaving something behind important to you?

I've never felt the need or desire to leave behind a legacy. Is this a personal flaw? I want to reach my goals and live a fulfilling life but I'm not going to be around after death anyway to see what people say about me. It's similar in my mind to the situation of wanting to kill yourself to spite your family - you're not going to be around for the satisfaction.
It's not something I've ever really deeply thought about though. I hope that when I die I will see that I did some good, maybe some bad, and I won't have too many regrets. I didn't even know that it was a thing people desired until a friend once said something about everyone wanting to leave behind some kind of legacy when we were teenagers.
Maybe it's a flaw, although I've never seen it that way. I like creating things - drawing, writing, painting - and I do get satisfaction when people like my stuff but as I said once I'm dead, who cares?

Seems to me most people settle,( or would settle for): getting rich, getting laid often, getting attention, being popular, then being famous, having power and or respect, -- somewhere, sometime if they take the time to think they might realize being kind, & friendly, have just a little importance. The poor would be glad just to have nutritious food, clean drinking water, & a safe shelter.
On the other end of the spectrum are those who won't settle for just a legacy & want immortality, thru being frozen, or cryogenically frozen, sort of like the Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs hopes.
As they say: " it takes all kinds"... that's how it seems to me at the moment, but quite possibly, everyone may disagree. It seems, lawyer types just like to win whatever the cost - neither immortality nor a legacy tempt them, hence the all the lawyer jokes.
An interesting question for you OC, is whether a genius like Robin Williams cared about a legacy? when push came to shove ... and what that might mean as regards a legacy vs. living an interesting life that enriched many others' lives. And whether one has any control over how others interpret one.

Follow Attaturk - force people into racial migrations - build 10 acre monument, mountain carved into your bust (head and shoulders no nipples) - erect statues of yourself etc.

Mummification, it ultimately falls short of the mark, but it does retard the decay & recycling process of form / the body to a degree - for a time.

Sounds like you need to drink more water.
As for OP list, how about becoming God?
Jesus Christ knew he was God. So wake up and find out eventually who you really are. In our culture, of course, they’ll say you’re crazy and you’re blasphemous, and they’ll either put you in jail or in a nut house (which is pretty much the same thing). However if you wake up in India and tell your friends and relations, ‘My goodness, I’ve just discovered that I’m God,’ they’ll laugh and say, ‘Oh, congratulations, at last you found out.' ~Alan Watts

I see five faces in that pic.
They all seem to display various levels of retardation.
I suppose they would have to, given the fact that much of the world is starving, and they are engaging in pointless gluttony.

A momentarily illiterate deity prospect; well, there's nothing wrong with that. Given the 'last will be first' we might view babies with rattlers as the deadly rattlesnakes in the West that can only be gunned down if the baby believes guns are the answer to some of our problems in inter-personal relations.

I think the reality is that nothing is immortal, no matter how long we're able to string it out, via DNA or contribution or fame.
It's all just dust in the wind...
like tears... in the rain.

Well, until we have this topic ironed out, here is a fortuitous video I was watching this morn about age reversal research:
This Harvard Professor Explains the Secret to Aging in Reverse | David Sinclair on Health Theory
In the scope of how much time is left for the universe, perhaps adding 30% more lifespan isn't enough.
Either that, or there was a really good episode on Adult Swim Sea Lab 2020 about putting your brain into a robot body.
Or just get resurrected in a new body on in an alternate dimension/plane of reality.
If not, I like the 60 acre monument and giant bust. Maybe if you build an obelisk out of stainless steel, engraved with your image and favorite posts, that would last a while... but to keep scrappers from looting your shrine you would have to make it non-recyclable...
