What to do with clone plates

So I cloned some nice big cubes onto agar. I have made one round of transfers to Alien's holy grail plates - 24 of them. At least 22 appear to be clean, but won't know until I open them up for a better look. The transfers that I made were either nice looking mycelium or individual pins or mycelium with knots or pins just starting. My question is what is my next step? I assume since they were clones I don't need to do more transfers as long as they are clean.
For agar to grain, how much agar to a jar or how many pieces of agar to a jar? I figure the more I fuck with it the more chance of contamination, but the more agar, the better the grain colonization.
How long can I store plates in a fridge? Do I need to do anything special like wrap or put in ziplocs?
I have heard of slants, which I gather are test tubes with thicker agar to prevent dryout and prolong the storage of the mycelium. Should I do that or just save a grain jar for future transfers?

I use the whole dish for a single jar. I would also expand just one clone to have a tub of mostly uniform mushrooms, this would narrow it down more though there are some who believe this affects potency. From what you stated you could do either 22 jars or 44 jars if you cut the plates in half.

Well, unfortunately I didn't keep track of which plates were from which mushroom. There were only two that started all these plates. I will do a better job of tracking next time... maybe. Thanks for the info. I hope these turn out. They were both about 10-12 inches tall with fat stems and wide caps. I have prints too if the clones don't work out.

Using Bigger/more wedges doesn't necessarily give you faster colonization times. You can use an entire plate or you can cut it into 10 and use 1/10 when doing a2g and everywhere in between. I recommend using 1/10 though, I've been enjoying the speed of LC lately.
I've stored plates for up to a year but they're not guaranteed to survive, I'd do slants for long term.

imo using the whole plate makes sense because I'm just dropping the whole thing onto grain. Right now I'm using an SAB which I just can't go chopping up bits of agar to toss into jars like you could with the ease of a Flow Hood. So for me the quick lift and slip method of dropping whole plates works out.
