Yeah Z's are the worst. Get why they need a screen in front of their face all the time. I NEED TO TAKE A PICTURE OF EVERYTHING.
Saw a comedy bit that made me laugh. This was grandfather and a picture and a story about it. This is a picture from Z or M saying, I ate this and drank this coffee and took twenty shots of it at my local cafe!
Hey, fucking great! Look at my instagram, facebook, etc. No. Just no.

Okay, start my physio on monday... Things are are still progressing nicely.
I've been lifting very lightly steadily (with the okay from my doc) along with pushups and other easy bodyweight exercises, stretches etc... Lots of walking even though it's been cold as fuck, even here in alberta for this time of year.
There's a thing thing or two that's been itchin at my nerves from the very first night though, that I never mentioned before... The way we (my gf and I) were treated by the medical staff.
The first doctors/nurses I interacted with (at the first hospital I was sent to) thought for sure my girlfriend smashed me in the back with a baseball bat or something... I could overhear them talking quite clearly about it..
Shortly after my CT scan and Xray, I legit heard them off to the side saying "there's no way he just fell, he was hit by something blunt, on purpose.. Looks like a baseball bat."
They come back and are asking me all these questions about our relationship and if there's any violence etc... Kept trying to tell them, "NO... NEVER.. NO NOT EVEN ONCE".. but they remained sceptical... And it was not helping matters... My poor fucking girlfriend damn near had a nervous breakdown cuz they kept calling her asking her what she had done!
She kept calling the hospital to see how I was doing and they wouldn't even let her talk to me, just kept asking what she had done... Also, because of covid, she couldn't even be there, no visitors alowed.
I had to be shipped to another hospital in calgary, because there was no spinal specialist in the hospital I was in... Once I got there, the doc/nurses gave the other guys shit for being complete asshats for focusing on the wrong thing... Even the spine specialist was giving them shit, oh he was ANGRY at them...
They (the first hospital) legit thought this was a domestic dispute... Though it was not even close... My gf and I are super fucking tight, we would NEVER hurt eachother like that EVER... Fuck it pisses me off the way we were treated in that regard.

You've been doing fucking pushups now?!?! bro that's super good. You must be a lot farther ahead than I thought you were. I mean, normal people oftentimes can't even do a pushup
Sorry about the way that first hospital treated you and your GF. They sound like amateurs.

I've actually started my weightlifting routine again
went from from a 425 pound max deadlift to like 40 pounds , but that's okay, I'm just glad to be able to be lifting again.. I'm slowly pushing it a bit harder every session though, just nothing over my head yet until my core strength builds up a bit more.
planks have been helping immensely, same with pushups... they don't hurt at all, but it's weird feeling this weak, I can do about ten regular until my body says "fuck off", then i switch to my knees for a few more.
been working on sqauts (just body weight) but it doesn't feel right yet, balance is fucked for some reason, but I'll get er done eventually.
my yoga ball has also been a godsend.. the stretches I can do with that thing are amazing, it's really been helping.
I know it wont be anytime quick that I'll be back to 100%, prolly not till about a year from now anyway (according to my physiotherapist) but that's totally okay... I am just so happy I'm not fucking paralyzed, my spine healed good and shouldn't have any long term issues.

my goal now is to be deadlifting some serious poundage again, and I'll post a video once I get back to the serious lifts... I hope it can at least bring some inspiration for people who suffered a serious injury and think they'll never be the same again..
I'm in no hurry though.. just taking it as I go. Used to be a day by day thing, but now I'm looking more at weeks, slowly creeping on to months.
if you guys are sick of seeing this post coming up I'll stop.. but it's almost like a journal to me at this point lol

CatsLoveHouseMusic said: Are they still trying to find out why this happened, the seizure?
they think it prolly had something to do with my blood pressure, which has always been a bit high in recent years.. was creeping up dangerously high leading up to the seizure now that we look back, and that blood pressure never really settled down much.
we can't think of anything else really, and it makes sense.
my doc put me on some blood pressure meds about ago month now... had an appointment with him earlier today, he told me told me it's right back to where it should be... big sigh of relief right there.
lucky I didn't have a full on stroke/heart attack it was so high.
2020 I tells ya.

Someone's gotta say it(because its true), HBP.. The silent killer. IME, there's absolutely correlation between hypertension and seizures. None since?
Can't speak for others, but I find your progress super inspiring. Besides, who doesn't like a success story?
Gaining favorable results by means of pushing yourself(and not overdoing it) is ultra rewarding. I admire the progress, and especially your refusal to settle.
Looking forward to hearing the next report!

Wow, 425 pound deadlift? Sounds high. You must be jacked.
I understand how tough waiting to exercise can be because of injury. I love to run and I ended up getting non-acute compartment syndrome in my left calf and had to take one full year off of running. That was a few years ago. It's totally manageable now as long as I don't run like a crazy person too often. I do have to stretch my legs a decent bit every day to feel normal, otherwise my left calf feels a little tight.
Post that video when you're ready! I'll take a look. And nahh I enjoy reading about your journey!

Yeah, it is a journey. Strange how well one gets to know one's body when rehabbing and used to being active. Get through it.
The only thing that scares me is never healing, paralyzed or degenertive shit. But, I don't worry about it. Heal and recover. I don't see why anyone would want one not to that has kind of humanity to them.
I just bring it up because big sports guy. Never cheered when a guy was hurt or worse carted off the field or such. You have your own rehab but sounds like you will do fine. Patience is a bitch. And I have had my frustrations.

You should try acupuncture for the pain and to help decrease healing time.

At least you didn't break your whole arm in 5 spots and had to have it stretched out and man handled without anesthetic and then have it cut open and plated in four 9 inch incisions from shoulder to wrist and then stapled back together. That shit suckz

How is your healing and spine doing? Curious. Spine is an anomality I remember from a long time ago with some kid with scolious though your case is different. Did it heal?
It is amazing how important the spine is to the body.

They were resetting the broken bones in the arm to the correct positions.
That's brutal without any anesthetic, wow.
