Going out for a walk/hunt in a little bit, yay for me. I'll report back after I get back.

I am back.....It was really foolish to go looking for mushrooms at this time of year in Maine. It was a beautiful day though, couldn't miss out on a great walk. I have learned a couple things, 1) the early bird does not get the worm 2) patience is the key. What I did find in a field where a man keeps horses is an abundance of Little White Flowers (LWF's I call them). They seemed to be saying to me, "Don't give up, they will be here sooner than you think". In all the places where the LWF's have sprouted, I have spotted mushrooms in years past. Interesting. That is all.

It's been perfect weather for the little fellows lately, all I've seen are mushrooms growing on fallen white birches.  Maybe today calls for an extensive search of the surrounding woods area.  Maybe they're hiding under all the leaves that are around.  Another thing I have kicked around: Maybe when I walk by them they suck themselves up into the ground and then when I'm out of sight they pop back up and laugh.
