Conspiracy theories * 2
    #26681404 - 05/19/20 03:45 PM (3 years, 8 months ago)

When I was 14, uninformed, and constantly stoned out of my mind, I definitely wandered down some rabbit holes. Back then though, there were only certain small areas of the internet where anyone would really talk about that stuff, and it seemed more like a hobby than some kind of movement.

Nowadays people are burning down 5G towers, opening fire in pizza parlors because they think Hillary is in there molesting kids, my doctor is preaching about the "deep state" trying to enslave us on chain emails, my governor's house is surrounded by flat earthers and COVID hoaxers right now. I logged onto Facebook for the first time in years earlier, it was a dumpster fire of 5G, anti-vax, QAnon, and warnings about Bill Gates... from people with normal lives who I'd never expect to get into this stuff.

It's pretty wild. I'm all for questioning the official story on things, but I'm not getting an actual "truth seeking" vibe from most of these people. Many of them stress that we can't believe what "they" tell us, but then they'll instantly and wholeheartedly believe everything some random guy on youtube is preaching... ignoring the countless debunking and fact checking videos on the same topic.

It almost has a culty religion-like feeling to it these days. The fact that it's spreading in the circles police and all these armed militia groups hang out in is definitely a little worrying.

Conspiracy theories always interested me. The ones with this virus though is annoying and ridiculous. The thing with conspiracy theorists is they say somebody's science/opinion is wrong, yet in no way could understand that stuff without studying it. I'm not saying you need PhD level knowledge of a topic to be more knowledgeable in an area, for example, the correlation between diet and health. Eat healthy food, don't put junk in your body, exercise, etc. is more sensible than a doctor loading you up on drugs.

I watched a lot of 9/11 conspiracy theory videos a few years ago, so coming from somebody who considered the possibilities of those claims being true (and maybe some of them are, I'm open minded), I say that this is a strong possibility to the ones who make these claims:

Conspiracy theorists WANT the conspiracies to be true.

It's an interesting, evil hidden enemy, kind of story. I'm all for getting to the truth, but you might be actually helping those, whoever they are, get what they want by you doing a reversal on yourself by spreading this non-sense. People don't understand that this virus can be spread even if your body has a strong immune system. Trust me, if it wasn't for the asymptomatic thing I'd be completely comfortable not wearing a mask because I have a good immune system. I do it for other people. It's not a big deal. Tedious, but not a big deal.

I don't think this mask thing should last that much longer though unless somebody invents a way to eradicate the virus in a healthy way. Having an OCD society (which I was with touching certain things before this situation, but not on this level) is not good either.

People need to take care of themselves health wise too. If everybody stopped consuming toxic substances and stopped doing other unhealthy things in their life than there would be less burden on other people in general. I'm not blaming people with weak immune systems in part for this whole thing, I'm far from perfect. We have to make health, true health, a priority.

I'm very open to the possibility the virus was engineered and/or was released intentionally. The 5G thing is a complete red herring though IMO.

I like the idea of conspiracy theories but when there are people calling the victims of mass shootings "crisis actors" and harassing them I get pretty pissed. It's one thing to toss crazy ideas around, but to hardcore believe to the level you shoot up a pizza parlor, that's scary. A lot of mass shooters are tinfoilers.

The government can't get do anything right, everyone knows that, but when it comes to these plots they have 100 man conspiracies where no one ever even death bed confesses. The mob keeps details from anyone who doesn't need to know and often kills the killers too. Large conspiracies don't work, every criminal organization know that, they will kill your family and people still snitch. So when everyone from accident investigators to the coroner to the police, to the media, to fire dept, are all "in on it", sorry I don't buy it. I would whistle blow and I think others would too.

The American government is doing all sorts of evil shit around the world to advance its on own interests, financing coups, assassinating would be revolutionary leaders, rigging elections etc and the populace says nothing, can't be bothered to even read about it in the "fake news". But absolute nonsense about imaginary sex rings in pizza parlors gets them all riled up. Its crazy and scary.

There has been 4 years of a madman leader spreading that shit too. Anything that is wrong with the government the "deep state" did it, its a perfect excuse for the inadequacies of a shitty administration. Braindead Trump supporting America will literally believe anything he says about Hillary or Obama. Conspiracy theories are weaponized now. Pizzagate was the first one, no one on 4 chan who made that up believed it, hoaxing is literally what they do there. It was middle America who took that shit and ran with it, honestly if my doctor believed in Q or the deep state I would find another doctor. How long until he is prescribing bleach and leeches and telling you vaccines are bad?

I like twitter when I search Adrenochrome the fear and loathing drug. All sites Erowid, bluelight etc say its inactive and Hunter S Thompson made that shit up. But I go online and the Qtards are spreading the hoax democrats eat terrified children's brains for the adrenochrome. There is no reasoning with them, you can buy it online its legal, why would you need to kill children for it? Even those vampire goth nerds who drink blood don't claim its psychoactive.

There is no way to stop this outside of censorship, you can't reason with crazy, your well sourced peer reviewed scientific paper is the same as some random guys blog to the retarded masses. You can find a youtube video to conform to any crazy shit you want to believe. Its a dark ages for correct information

David Icke is big on that type of stuff too since way back. The Royals are in on it too apparently.
