Those rhizo edges definitely look sexy. I'd say it's worth a grain test

As long as there's nothing under that parafilm that we can't see, I'd say it's gorgeous.

This is a really stupid question but...
How to best put into the grain jar?
Should I slice a circle around the entire growth and "flick it" into the jar with the scalpel?
I was told I was actually supposed to slice up the growth pretty good so that I can shake up the jar and there will be many inoculation points. But I don't want to include the agar that wasn't colonized. I was sort of thinking of slicing a circle enclosing the entire growth and then slice it up crisscross on the inside and then dump in just the circle part and then let the crisscross part break up inside the jar when I shake it.
What do you think about this? Thanks!

I like turning the agar growth into basically a pizza. Do the circle and cut it into eights. Once dropped in, you can carefully shake them into the grain so they are evenly dispersed and will colonize quicker. If you doubt your technique, dumping the whole biz in there will be less exposure time and works fine.

I guess my fear is that since not all of the agar is colonized there is a chance that there is a contaminant outside of the area of clean mycelium growth.
But I guess if there was it would show.
Thank you.

Yeah. I didn't mean use the whole plate. Trace the growth out first regardless.
