Hello guys! English is not my native langueage.. i will do my best.
I started working with agar and oats more than six months ago. I am not an expert cultivator, however prior to this problem I had more than fifty jars colonized without major problems.
In the last 30 days everything was a disaster. I have thrown at least 15 jars all similar to the one in the pic
At first I thought I was being sloppy with drying oats. I tried to be cautious as at the beginning of the hobby, and I decided to be very aware of cooking and drying oats .
There were no changes. Then I focused on inoculation. I generally do G2G. I tried to meticulously clean the bathroom that I always use to do this and what good results it was giving me, but I kept seeing mold in the jars.
Then I decided to work with an AGAR again to see if the mother jars were the problem. But I still see mold! I made the mistake of leaving the jars with mold too long and now everything is contaminated.
What should I pay more attention to?

Do you use a still air box or just g2g in the bathroom?

Definitely use a SAB. If you already are, warmer weather will also bring additional contamination if you have any holes in your game.
What kind of PC do you use and are you following all the proper procedures like letting the steam vent for 5-10 min, letting the jars cool down in the PC naturally (not manually releasing pressure to try to rush).
What kind of lids are you using and have you checked / changed the filter material in a while?
Your English seems pretty good but if you have trouble with anything I wrote feel free to point it out.

Yeah man I started growing last fall so this is my first spring/summer and my contam rate is like 600% higher.
If your agar plates are clean then the mold is getting in when you put the agar in the jar. I’m having the same problem with one of my cultures, I can’t tell if the mold is getting in during inoculation or if spores are just hiding on the mycelium.

I've always used a SAB.

I cant tell either.
My biggest confusion arises because I have worked like this for the last 5 months without problems, with the same culture and following the same steps.
here we are in autumn so my previous success was in warmer seasons
I made the mistake of storing and even opening (away from the other jars) jars similar to these, perhaps promoting contamination throughout the apartment
Is it possible that the mold is now in the mycelium and does not manifest until I condition it to grow in another jar?
I left a control jar after sterilizing, it takes more than 48 hours in the same place as the rest and there are no signs of contamination. Does that mean either that the mole is in the bath or in the mycelium?
could try inoculating with spores again and observe the results.

Yes sir. Steam vent for 10min, cooking 2hours, letting the jars cool down all night

So I could conceivably live in perpetual fall/winter by hopping between hemispheres? I’ve always thought our seasons were reversed somewhere based on an overheard comment when I was like 15 but I wanted it to remain a mystery to be solved accidentally so I never looked it up. Sweet.
Back on track - have you been using the same culture for all this? You said you went back to agar. It’s definitely possible that something is on that plate with your mushroom mycelium. Are you using an old master culture or have you started with new spores on agar since all this mold started showing up?

LOL yes, of course you can! iam 35 years old but I have not lived 35 winters. I scape twice to the other half of the planet to live the spring-summer loop again and again ahah
Yes, i used always same culture. With master grain or agar

Niiiice. I’ve been half wondering about that every few months or years for like 15 years now. I would use this knowledge to avoid the heat myself lol.
Is every jar contaminating or just a lot of them? Maybe filters are going bad on some jars, though it would be a pretty big coincidence if the jar you used as a test was the only one with a good filter still. Personally I would put new spores to agar and see if anything is different with an MS grow. I’ve heard of contaminants riding on a culture unseen, though it’s probably pretty rare.
Do you have a pic of some agar plates that these jars originally came from?
