so recently (6 days to be exact) I spawned (rye) to a small bulk tray with 1 and 1/2 inch of substrate (CVG). I know this is miniscule compared to the 3/4 inches that people cultivate on but I wanted to play it safe due to a previous contam'd monotub. can i get some opinions on how the myc is looking (yeah i know its not level, too late to fix that now)

So it is starting to shrink. That's a good sign Pinning should happen pretty quickly Mist when it looks like it does now and then give it 6 hrs or so to dry out a bit.
I recently put my dehydrator in the same room as some shoeboxes 4x6 room. And it dried the shit out of the tubs and boompins!

Yeah, the surface just looks kinda dry, and like it just recently got that way. Could just be the way the picture is coming across to me on my phone? Or it could have just dried up a bit sitting out in open air before you took the picture? Where are you fruiting that thing?

I see that it is uncased so you need an FC, high humidity needed.

Coir vermiculite gypsum
Unless it is PE it doesn't need a casing layer. And yeah it will take time to dry out, just keep up the misting schedule and you will be fine. Doesn't look overly dry to me.

its probably the way i took it, the substrate looks visibly wet bit worried that i might over do it so ill come back to it later. im fruiting it on top of a small closet, though the sun came out earlier so i moved it in a more direct spot

yeah i was thinking about whether i should case or not but didn't want to have that risk of contamination with this tub. throwing away hard work is so frustrating
