First oat jar innoc moving slowly

So I inoculated 10 whole oat quart jars 5 days ago with agar wedges that were on their second transfer. This is my first time prepping jars and it seems to be moving slower than what I’ve seen from others here. I’ve been trying to keep the temp in the high 60s but a few nights did drop into the 50’s. Included is a pic, just trying to get critique and info. Learning as I go.

Temperatures are too low which is why the growth is slow. Ideally you want a constant ~70s for optimal growth

Also, aside from those Alaskan temps agar as an inoculate is just slower than you expect. It takes about a good 24-48 hours before the myc recovers then a few more days[ at least ]to jump to the grains. Then a few more to get going ... Then a few more to finish up.
Avg for me is about 12-14 days give or take. That's why I don't usually use agar as an inoculate unless I'm trying to end a grow and use it up. Mostly use it for LC. Once the LC is ready it'll colonize a jar in less than a week. Usually 5 days.
1/8th of a petri will make 500-750ml of LC within a week and that will innoc. Many many jars saving time in the long run. As opposed to 1 plate and wait.

Thanks all. I guess I need to learn to make a liquid culture. My jars are still super slow but they are growing a little.

Nah, having some space between grains is good. I'd wait another day or two and do the shake.

You might also want to check out the Blenderless LI tek. It has worked well for me and I’ve already spawned jars I inoculated with LI about two weeks after some jars I hit with wedges that still aren’t done.
