I've noticed some of these you've pulled out with the mycelium still attached. If you want to pick these again, I suggest you don't do that. It makes it harder and harder for them to fruit again. Use a knife or scissors and cut them at the base of the stem...
Yep, good idea - thanks for the tip. We want future generations to thrive.

Yesterday I tried the Blue Mountains Euc forests and found nothing in 1.5 hours. On the way back to the car I looked down and 2 metres from where I parked, growing from a mulch bed was this thirsty fella. I agree we need rain.
At least I didn't go home empty handed

I am 90% sure I do.

Aged wood-chipped beds and pine forests surrounded by eucalyptus trees.

Hi All, I've been looking around Sutherland Shire for years. Am I wasting my time? Worn out two pairs of boots but never found a thing in 3 years? Thought I was just unlucky. Anyone else had success in the Shire? Many thanks!

Any ID's on this? Found in decaying wood near a creak. Looks a little worse for wear as forgot my phone on the walk.

Looks like bluing around the cap margin. TI will let you know.
Found a bunch of subs 20 feet from my shed. Witches hat pheno. Heavy caps. 6 biggest weigh 28g without bottom mycelium part. All up 50g, so will do a 50g dose tonight.

There were 17 altogether. Some of the little ones looked more like sombreros.
Ate them at 4.22-4.28pm. So should be tripping until midnight I hope. Good bluing reaction. Had to eat them with peanut butter to disguise the bitter flavour. Adios.

Got lucky last year and found a great patch of myc on some dead wood!
Scraped off in between some moist cardboard and let that take over for a month before burying in my garden bed.
Kept it watered for a while but didn't water much at all through water restrictions etc.
First cold night and some rain last Friday and the some lil bb pins popped up on Sat!
Couple of photos from the last couple of days
If anyone has any tips on how to gather some spores and put them in water with a spray bottle that would be great.
Would love to try and start some more local patches

Great work. Using your initiative and patience. Check out how to make a spore print. And repeat the cardboard tek with stem butts to grow more myc. Keep us updated!

No worries, collect the stem butts from your finds and read this. You'll have your own patch in no time.

hey all, just checking in and have a question regarding how long the season lasts here in Norther Rivers area of NSW?
I'm thinking that with all this rain and hopefully a little bit of sunshine, gold tops will continue to pop up ?is it too cold now? whats the ideal temperature range / weather conditions for fruiting to occur? I re visited a spot about a month ago, that was extremely fruit full last year. Only to find it baron, not a single mushroom of any description.
Im a green thumb with a small amount of success, looking to wise up a little bit. thanks in advance

let's say it hasnt rained for 2 weeks but today was 20ml+ of rain in a pine forest. based off that info alone, is that enough to define a window to go picking? or do i need to consider the frost, temperature the following days etc.
how much rain, how long do i wait etc? i am doing trail and error at the moment but its a a several hour round trip for me to visit my closest pine forest area.
thanks anyone who can help
