Newbie looking for help with ID please (Southern Australia)
    #26677851 - 05/17/20 10:12 PM (3 years, 8 months ago)

#1

Habitat: Forest public park, Tasmania, Australia, growing on/near damp, mossy ground

Gills: Cream colour

Stem:
Roughly 6 cm x 1 cm, brown-orange stain over white-cream stem

Cap:
Roughly 2.8 cm wide, brown-orange colour

Spore print color: In process. (REAL newbie question: Even if this were a psychedelic, would doing this ruin the specimen and impede consumption of it?)

#2

Habitat: Forest public park, Tasmania, Australia, growing on/near damp, mossy ground

Gills: Dull/grey-ish light brown colour (at least, this is how it appears to my weary eyes in dull indoor lighting; photos make it appear more pink-brown, which I can observe slightly with my eyes)

Stem:
Roughly 3.5 cm x 0.6 cm, slightly deeper brown colour than cap/gills

Cap:
Roughly 2.3 cm wide, rounded "bell" shape, same colour as gills

Spore print color: In process.

#1 is not active/not a sub. I would call that a sub look a like. There is a lack of blue bruising on the stem.

Not sure on the species of either, it'll need someone with more shroom experience! If you're looking for subs, keep searching.

Taking a spore print doesn't affect consuming the shroom (once you find a consumable one), you're just cutting off the stem and leaving the cap on paper or foil for several hours.
