Finally got a very good method for nice pin sets on our blue oysters. Doing 8lb bags with wheat straw 85%, bran 5%, coir 8% and a few more ingredients After colonizing I give the blocks water then allow to pin in almost 100% humidity at about 68 degrees. Once fruiting I try to keep humidity down around 88-92%. Been getting abouy 35% of substrate weight off 2 flushes. The first couple runs was only getting about 20%.

Why are your bags open like that? Your blocks will dry out. I think you are short on airflow. Your stipes are already getting long.

We never had a problem with drying out. Airflow is pretty good the air fully cycles in our tent every 10 minutes. These pics are close ups the stems were only 1/2" long in the pic. Heres a pic of what the clusters end up like.
We used to fruit from just a hole in the bags but they always tried to bust out of the bags in other areas and this way seemed to work the best for us. We make sure to soak the blocks well between flushes.

Definitely not an ideal way to fruit oysters from a bag but good luck.
Try squeezing the air out and cutting a big x in a bag and see how that works for you.

I think his problem is that the straw is allowing air in the bag so he gets fruits inside the bag. Yet another good reason to use HWFP and soy hulls. With soy hulls, you make the cut on the bottom of the bag and the only place it fruits is along the slice. I get 1.5 to 2 lbs 1st flush doing it this way. Except I only make a slice from corner to corner instead of an X so I get bigger fruits and its easier to harvest.

Yeah the substrates look dry in the first pics, but those fruits don't show it.
They do however show that you probably should have harvested them a day earlier if you want to avoid spores. When the very edges start to curl up like that, that's how I tell I should have harvested them the day before. Even if you have a sporeless strain, I'd still do it for fruit quality, they seem to be a bit denser.

Definitely a late harvest on that one.
