Finally germination :)

So years ago i did a lot of research on shroomery and built a tek off of other peoples success and failures (research/development) taking the best of what i could find and piecing it together carefully.
It was wildly successful and simplified, but the worry of law had me write nothing down lol oops. so im piecing it back together by memory and a little bit of research. I would like to give it back and do a write up of the methods im using once I hone it back in. Maybe things have changed in the last few years as far as teks go. At the time (5 years ago) many methods i researched got overly complicated for a hobbyist looking for simplified robust yields. What i do is less complicated than the BRF PF tek i would place it around third grade (US) science cooking and sanitation skills.
but to the point of the title "finally germination". I forgot to put my jars in the proper temp , i was around 60-65*F for ten days with nothing, then remembered to raise that temp. Put them in the bathroom with a heat lamp where my young chickens are growing, and BOOM mycellium growth has begun practically overnight lol
(if this is better suited on another board, by all means moderators please move this.)

Well if you inoculated with spores it would take around 10 days for you to see growth anyways. I don’t think the temp affected your jars a crazy amount. How did you end up doing your process?

really i remember it being less time but five years have passed so. well a short write up jar lids are drilled with a large and small hole, small hole get's automotive red gasket sealer so the "wound" self heals after injection and has a squeegee effect on the needle. the large one gets polly fill for gas exchange with minimum contam risk.
Rye grain is used boil so water soaks but doesn't pop kernel then pressure cook, you know.
a glove box is made using a clear tot with holes for hands. sterilization process. i do like to tape a pieces of computer paper over the hole from the top to prevent excessive exposure.
inoculation wait birth
same type of clear totes are use to, whats the word when you birth to the substrate. anyways its a mono tub set up with large holes and lite poly fill for FAE.
the substrate is also rye grain. unscented black trash back as a liner for shrinkage, works very well. i dont recall misting but shouldn't be a problem after the substrate is taken over.
no casing layer this is all grain, except if you consider the mix initial mix covered by a bit bye grain to avoid contam.
a florescent bulb is used but didnt do any special light cycle.
maintained tep around 74 and had lite fan in the room.
i actually went overboard with about 8 tubs because grain is so cheep and wound up with a tote full of dried crispy shrooms that im ethically unwilling to sell not because of law but because of what this is, a not for profit enterprise. you know share the soul spreed the spore kinda thing. each had huge dense clusters and many wet caps larger than sliced bread, with a solid three cycles of harvest each.
but yeah i would like to write this up better. measurements temps equipment procedure etc. Its a lot of info to take in at first and would like to make some type of appendix reasoning why something is done so a person understands if they need to trouble shoot. Basically a recipe above and the reasoning below.

While 60F is on the low side, 10 days is within normal range to expect germination. Especially if you used older spores.

It's completely possible it was 3-4 days 5 years ago. Both are within normal range for germination.
