Can you save grown out agar in the fridge so it stays ready for transfers?

Say you have agar that has been transfered once, and its grown out some but youre too lazy to do transfers or whatever..Ive read some people puts their in the fridge. Thoughts on that? Because mine grow to the edges and then I transfer them way late, due to situations. It would be nice to be able to do a transfer, let it grow some, then stick it in the fridge.

Totally! I'd recommend you get an insulated lunch bag / box for when you decide to take them out of the fridge. Slower warming reduces condensation. Also, if you're intending on keeping it longer than a week or so you'll want to individually bag them in Ziplocks. This'll increase the amount of time they have until they dry out.

Ha! Beat me to it ^

Absolutely. That's how we store cultures, on plates or in slant tubes, under refridgeration.

I don't grow my plates out more than 3/4 of the way usually. I like to see the edge.

I put my plates in fresh ziplock bags to keep them clean. And insulated lunch box will protect against temp swings when you open / close the door but you don't need it.

Interesting. Im on my fourth transfer, I quit growing and just kept transfering, not sure how many Im going to do. I feel better that im bot so pressured bow. I have too much agar. I mean it may not be a lot for you but I have about 60-70 plates and its a lot to keep on top of it.
