Yes you are. Is that a serious question?

Are those your priorities in life? Your internet persona implies differently.
And to say we couldn't have all those things without foreign interests controlling everything is ridiculous.

Yea, no shit. I'm constantly talking about losing freedoms and people just want to dismiss it.
Let's all just welcome facial recognition technology, censored internet, forced digital currency, and all that good stuff though right?

But yea, fuck all the greedy cunts who sold their own country out "in the name of progress".
The most effective thing ALL of us can do right now is to buy american made products. If everyone did this it would no doubt have a massive impact.
My point was mainly that foreign investment has basically led to foreign ownership. Most industries were improved and made more competitive by the investment but it came at a cost. We are seeing the fallout from that amplified by Fox Sky News Aus, whipping the viewers into an anti-China lather.

I think Rupert Murdoch needs to be investigated. That or burnt at the stake, either one.
At the 5.18 mark Media Watch is calling out the White House line 'we have evidence China made the virus in a lab' as bullshit, helped along by the Murdoch media.
Also, this a month ago https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2020/apr/20/malcolm-turnbull-on-donald-trump-you-dont-suck-up-to-bullies from ex PM Malcolm Turnbull.
Quote:
Jared Kushner told me on 1 May(2017) that Trump was still hurt about the refugee deal. “He hadn’t expected you’d come on so strong, although we knew that was your reputation.” I told him I didn’t think the call was so bad. “Malcolm, it was bad.” He told me Rupert Murdoch, whose father had founded the Australian American Association, had persuaded Trump to go to the function on the Intrepid, and he urged me to be low-key and deferential.
When Trump arrived, he was accompanied by Rudy Giuliani and Rupert Murdoch. His deference to Murdoch was greater than I’ve ever seen from any Australian politician and was in marked contrast to the high-handed way Trump treats most people. When he asked me if Rupert could join us for our bilateral discussion between leaders, I told him that wasn’t a good idea, adding: “The rest of the media will kill us; let’s catch up with him later.”
For a first meeting, we covered a lot of ground. He talked about Kerry Packer a lot; he knew I’d been Kerry’s lawyer and “kept him out of jail”, something Donald mentioned every time we met.

So it looks like a few progressive heroes in the House tried to stop the HEROES Act that gives so much to the rich:
Despite Progressive Objections, House Pushes HEROES Act Forward
Quote:
Fourteen House Democrats—including nine members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus—voted against the procedural rule: Reps. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (Minn.), Pramila Jayapal (Wash.), Mark Pocan (Wis.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.), Ayanna Pressley (Mass.), Ro Khanna (Calif.), Katie Porter (Calif.), Jesús García (Ill.), Conor Lamb (Penn.), Abigail Spanberger (Va.), Abby Finkenauer (Iowa), Cindy Axne (Iowa), and Haley Stevens (Mich.).
These are the people we need to reelect. Happy to say Ro Khanna is my current representative.

Anti-maskers (I just made up that term but I think it will catch on) are assaulting store employees across the country who tell them they have to wear them. One security guard was killed. Some corporate chains are acquiescing to the anti-makers and others are instructing their workers to call the police.

I can call security on any mofo that refuses to wear a mask. I don't have to agree with store policy, but to keep my job I do. So if you want to get in my face and shout, EJECTED!
I don't need your stanky ass breath or hear about your liberties.

I just boycott any place that requires them. Whole foods already lost my dollars
I already drove all the way there last time i went so i wore the mask got my stuff and left. The employees were wearing them under their nose or pulling them down to talk.

Take any rando from a grocery store and have them make petri dishes and inoculate them with a pure culture while introducing no contaminants. Wont happen. Takes skill. Bacteria and fungi are significantly larger than virus particles.
It takes weeks of training to teach someone how to prepare to go into an operating room scrubbed up.
Even tattoo artists get training on pathogen spread. Of course blood borne pathogens are different but still they're more skilled than your grocery person.
People reliably cross contaminate surfaces and people reliably do hands to face/mouth actions after exposing themselves to those surfaces. Masks are super moot

I mean, if they dont stop the virus from getting in (which is what every source says), how would they stop it from getting out? That makes no sense.

Just to be clear...the virus hasn't been shown to be airborne by itself. It is carried by particles. Particles are moved by the velocity of the air leaving the mouth. Masks disrupt that process and reduce the distance that these particles will travel. Is this stuff really that hard to understand for people?
