Not just dry/ bruised?
If its bacteria why would it only be on the pins?

I guess it depends if the jar was super damp in there or too dry.

The jar seemed damp but hey, it's my first grow and it's not even the right size/shape jars. They are getting dunked tonight and put into the SGFC tomorrow. Will update when I have anything worth updating.

Dunked 2 cakes overnight, rolled in verm and placed in SGFC:

This SGFC will be packed full of cakes soon

I've got a few jars with this same thing happening. They are pinning but it looks like the pins are coming from the verm layer. After birthing there were noticeable pins all around the cakes.
Is it normal to see pins that look like they are coming out of the verm layer?

I couldn't get 2 of them out of their jars (another reason not to use pints) so I am dunking them in their own jars. Guess I'll try them in vitro and hope I get something out of them.
I noticed this on 2 of my other jars:

Above the S O N there is a faint blue patch.
I've got 22 jars I'll be birthing this weekend, a few dozen more still colonizing. The Rustywhyte and the Stropharia are going much faster than the others (B+, GT, Cambodian, Columbian.)

Those pints are pretty weird looking. Like a science project gone wild. Try to dry out the cake so u can get the cake out. Is the inject holes fully open?

The cakes are shrunken at the top and middle, but too fat at the bottom. They just wouldn't come out. I even tried pinching one and squeezing it out of the jar but it still wouldn't come out.
It almost looks like pure white worms, like little blobs and maggots lol. I've birthed 3 jars that looked like this. The "pins" are pure white with no color and no indication of a "head." After birthing the jars they all had little white blobs and some of those long wormy things growing in multiple areas. They were colonizing for about 5 weeks.
They definitely look a little weird. They don't look quite as weird in real life tho. My pics come out all blurry and shitty. I'll try again:

I was going to make another SGFC as I don't think this one will hold all my cakes. I'll isolate those weird looking pints away from the others.

This is what it looks like after dunking and rolling. Looks more like a pin now but still strange

Maybe they are mutants or need light or something. If u cant get those pint jars out, u might have to scoop them out into a small shoebox or something and fruit as a tray. Or top fruit the jar.

I'll just tray the pints then.
I'm praying to the Myc gods to help this grow work.

If you can, calculate the average dry weight of fruit per cake when all is said and done.

Looks good! Mist the perlite heavily and the fruits lightly. Enjoy the fruits on your labor

How would I go about drying out the cakes while in the jars?
I've got 6 more pint jars just about ready but they look like they won't come out. Seems strange, I though widemouth jars would ensure the cakes don't get stuck like that. Maybe due to gravity more water is at the bottom of the cake swelling it up against the glass.

Have the jars been sitting for the extra week after reaching 100% colonization?
That extra week of condensing is great for fruiting and helps them to shrink.

Yeah they have all had the one week consolidation.
After birthing a bunch of jars I've realized it's a combination of the fine verm and the newer bernardin jars. It gets packed down into the bottom and the shape of the jar makes it nearly impossible to get them out.
I birthed a bunch of jars using coarse verm and none of them got stuck. I also birthed some fine verm cakes in older bernardin jars with a different shape and they came out no problem.
Lesson learned for me, I'll be using coarse verm and looking for jars that won't get the cakes stuck.

Now I've run out of room in my SGFC and I'm considering either stacking cakes or grinding them up and doing coir/verm shoebox.

Heya Shifty, great job! It seems you are advancing thru the learning curve very quuckly. I suggest you begin reading up on bulk grows, shoes or monos. It's a shift of gears but now that you have the Presto you can go big. Bulk is way less work than managing bunches of jars, anyway. And bulk grows are just that....bulk. You'll achieve way more quantity with a mono than you can with the same space running cakes. I'm pretty confident that nobody who moved from cakes to bulk ever went back to cakes.
I admire your passion!

Agar, monos, filter disks, big AA cooker, and a flowhood definitely equal a game changer. Can reach a lot of minds with these tools.

Got 60 grams wet in the dehydrator. Should be enough to test the fruits
Made a few spore prints, screwed a couple up cuz I didn't realize how wet they would be when fresh.
I've got an 8 day hiking trip coming up soon and I'm hoping to have enough fruits for my friends and I.
I've been reading up on bulk and plan on doing agar to grains next. I am planning on coco/verm but I saw cow poo on sale today and am looking into that.
Thanks for the encouragement guys!
